Canada's Wonderland has announced two additions for 2023, including a new flat called Tundra Twister and a family launch coaster called Snoopy's Racing Railway.

Snoopy's Racing Railway
Snoopy's Racing Railway will be the park’s 18th roller coaster and will take guests on a wild railway adventure in Planet Snoopy next year. This family launch coaster accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in a matter of seconds before zipping through dips and turns as your train narrowly avoids the traps set by Woodstock and his Bad Seed Gang!

Tundra Twister

Soar high above Frontier Canada on Tundra Twister, a giant looping ride with rotating gondola arms that will have guests spinning, twisting and twirling 360-degrees, upside-down, at heights of 47 metres and speeds of 75 km/h. This mechanical marvel is the only attraction of its kind in the world and promises a unique thrill experience unlike any other.

Snoopy's Racing Railway seems to be a somewhat modified clone, of Zauberexpress from ART Engineering.

I’m wondering what the ridership will be just based on the intimidation factor alone.

It will have huge lines next year. Considering no other park in North America can rival Wonderland's extreme flat collection this new one will be another addition to their stellar lineup. The crowds there are used to getting rides like this.

Glad to see Canadas Wonderland's relationship with rare, absolutely insane, flat rides continuing!
There were some comments floating around that suggested the avalanche was going to replace sledgehammer. I have seen some other comments that have stated sledgehammer had been running better than it ever has and maintenance has been putting a lot of time into refurbing it. I've yet to get on sledgehammer so I really hope it lasts another year since I think my passport expires this month and I'm not likely to make it up there in time.

No, Sledgehammer is safe. Tundra Twister is going over on a currently empty area near the waterpark entrace/Yukon Striker's MCBR.

If it's not a head banger I would get a scopolamine patch to ride this. No other way. lol.

I think that the tundra twister avalanche will ride similar to the Zierer star shape at Marineland. It’s a similar concept with a different seating configuration.

The star shape is an amazing ride. But you have to keep your head back against the headrest or it will get banged up because it makes jerky movements when the seats flip. Like a top scan.

The star shape at Marineland has an awesome program where is pauses in the middle of the ride at its top height. The seats automatically rectify themselves right side up and the seats spin a few revolutions slowly. to let you take in the view. Then it goes back to full circuit. I hope the tundra twister avalanche will have the same type of program.
and let you take in the view for a m

Snoopy‘s racing railway was an absolute idiot decision for that park. That park is jammed, packed with customers almost every day, and they choose a one train coaster with about 20 seats?

Word is, it was originally going to be a kiddie-friendly flat, but someone internally at CW said, "for the same budget, we could get a small coaster instead".
For the adult crowds, the park will be getting new coasters and rides on an almost annual basis. This was an addition intended specifically for their kid section which is _also_ jam packed.

It’s going to be a capacity nightmare. I would think something like dueling Jr shityle coasters or a Zierer tivoli would not have cost much more and would have doubled capacity.

I know that Zierer discontinued tivoli, but something like that with a 20 car train.

Even this parks Blauer Enzian is substandard. It has only 10 cars. They are capable of many more.

When Taft built this park half-baked, they installed a shooting star replica instead of their standard high-capacity racing coaster. They also failed to put any high-capacity transportation rides or dark rides in this park like the other parks, they built

Instead of building a high-quality Omni mover dark ride inside the mountain they built the home movie screen based low capacity Guardian.

This park is so overcrowded and needs high capacity rides. Too many installations there are not.

I don't see how this doesn't slap your head left and right. But if it somehow doesn't it would be amazing.

This is probably a ride that you have to hold your head on the headrest or get thrashed. Notice how whippy the gondola movements are.

I think these rides (this, top scan, star shape) would be better if they could somehow slow the movement of the gondolas so they don’t whip.

It looks like it rides similar to the Zierer star shape at Marineland. It looks slower though.

However, if that’s the full cycle, the star shape is running a superior program. It pauses with the arm at full height in the middle of the ride with a couple horizontal rotations (amazing view) and then swells back into the full vertical rotation of the main arm.

I love the star shape. The best parts of the ride, or when you get a rotation when you were looking straight down at the ground and that pause in the middle.
