Also I’d feel that this would be a 2025 project at this rate? There hasn’t been any lane clearing for it to be a 2024 attraction imo
Yeah and I doubt Busch is the type to pull a late season opening (jul-sept) on purpose...

In another Park Fans post they are talking about how SEAS might add more flat rides to BGW during the 2024 season. We could see construction start for the flat rides soon and construction for the coaster project start next year.

Overwhelmingly likely that it's a 2025/50th anniversary project at this point I'd say. Again, still not impossible something could be shoved through at the last minute for '24, but at this point I think it would be pretty unprecedented for a project anywhere near the scale we're expecting.

And yeah, no proof of RMC right now, but all rumors I've heard currently point that direction and all the circumstantial evidence matches with that possibility so far (height, highest point location, etc). Unless/until something else pops up, probably reasonable to assume that with so much smoke, there is probably a fire with the RMC rumors. That's especially true on the heels of the (seemingly wild) success of Iron Gwazi.

The wildcard here though is this: Maybe this was an RMC project when it was slated for 2024 but plans for the site may have changed again. I haven't heard anyone claim that and see no evidence to directly suggest that, but as we've seen so many times during the extended "Madrid Arc" saga, delays often mean somethin' is up.

TECHNICALLY the 2024 season would've been the 50th season in operation, but since they have gone year round, that makes it more complicated. Would they keep it 50 years of operation, or "it has been 50 years since we opened the door"?

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if SEAS celebrated the parks 50th anniversary for 5 years, 1% surcharge increase for each extra year. Bonus surcharge on merchandise related to the 50th, other bonus surcharge for................yes everything else.

Looking ahead but Williamsburg is "anticipating" huge tourism in 2026 as well, for the Sestercentennial.
As we saw with Pantheon's anticipated opening in 2021 large crowds can actually be a reason to not open a new attraction.

I don’t think BGE had a problem with it from a business perspective and it didn’t cost them future business as far as we can tell… I’m sure tgst BGE would love the park filled to just past capacity every day.

Assuming you're referring to the same park when it was previously known as BG Europe instead of BG Williamsburg as it's currently known as (and was also known as before the Europe moniker, after they dropped The Old Country... But I digress), I don't think you and @horsesboy are disagreeing...

The park was already getting high attendance numbers without Pantheon, and opening would have not really moved the needle as much as it could when they weren't getting the attendance desired. Thus, as far as anyone can tell, they delayed until either attendance started declining or found they couldn't delay much further based on guest demand or legal reasons.

Therefore, also proving your point that they would love to be at capacity every operating day.
