Busch Gardens concerts are held in the Royal Palace Theatre

Brett Michaels Sunday May 4
MercyMe Sunday May 11
Lee Greenwood Friday, July 4.
The Romantics Saturday, July 5
Lynyrd Skynyrd Sunday, July 20
LeAnn Rimes Saturday, July 26
Steven Curtis Chapman Sunday, August 3

You're absolutely right about it going to be super crowded CK especially since the 4th is a Friday night. It was nice when the artist always had two shows on Sat and Sun evening. I wish the park would go back to that. We're getting short changed as Lee Greenwood has four shows scheduled for BGT when he plays there. But this is a great first act to find out about even though I'm not much of a country fan. However I told the wife about this and it got her attention so we should be there.

I am refusing to go to the park July 4th. It is going to be worse than ever. Not only will there be fireworks and everyone wants to visit the place when its their country's freedom day, but now you also have a concert July 4th. Are they trying to break their record for how many people they can smash into the park?

This must be the reason for 500 parking spaces.

Actually after being in the park on July 4th weekend for the past few years, the 4th normally isn't bad compared to the 3rd. The past two years have been legitimately frightening (on the 3rd).

I will say last year was not as bad, but still the 3rd, 4th, and especially the 5th is going to be the absolute worst days to visit the park this year no doubt.

For the record, anyone planning on hitting the park July 3rd through the 6th might as well stay home. July 3rd is traditionally the busiest day of the year with the 4th, not too far behind in terms of crowds. Assuming the park is planning extended fireworks not to mention extended hours that Saturday, its safe to say it'll be slammed.

Of course I've noticed that July 4th weekend tends to be hit miss with crowds but it helps to be better safe than sorry.

I think this is the latest that the park has ever waited to announce their concerts. They open in a couple days, usually they have the full lineup released.

I don't think so, they had the dates released, but they had only announced a couple of bands. It'll come soon enough, don't worry.

I don't expect anything too soon. Remember concerts aren't starting until May. I'd expect to hear some names in April maybe. Keep in mind a news article said there were only two concerts total in May.

^^ I looked in older threads and articles for when they announced the bands.
2013-Around March 8
2012- Feb 20
2011- the week of Feb 20
2010- Early January
2009- Early January

It seems that they waited a little later each year to announce them. I'm not "worried" I am just pointing it out.

Also BGW seems to always be more private park. With that said, while other parks release their special event information very much early on, the park doesn't like to release information early. They like to hold on to it for as long as they can. Part of the reason being, they don't feel like they have to because there is no competition in their eyes. They expect their market to choose them irregardless of special event details.

With Blackfish, that totally ruined the concerts for BGT and SWO. Even though, things turned out fine it still caused issues. I would assume that BGW didn't want to have to go through the trouble of finding replacement artists or canceling concerts because artists decided to distance themselves from the park. Even though people seem to forget BGW is part of the SeaWorld family, the risk is still there.

I will say a lot of the damage is gone now. You see a lot more positive comments on both BGT and SWO's Facebook posts and walls, etc as opposed to the constant bashing earlier. Things have definitely gotten better, but in fear of that small risk something might happen, they may want to hold off on announcing concerts right away.

I personally think they may announce concerts on a monthly basis or announce them all at once just right before May.

I'm too lazy to screenshot this but just posted on Facebook-
"We're excited to announce the first two concerts of the season. On May 4, Bret Michaels will take the stage for Busch Gardens Live. On May 11, we invite you to praise with MercyMe Music for Glory at the Gardens. Stay tuned as additional artists will be announced throughout the season."
