Just to be clear. I'm not advocating for cheap beer. They started the stein club and THEY set the price for refills. It came with a beer stein and that was the way it was set up. If they are going to change the membership where you get a glass, and the price of the beer is $10 then what is the use? An engraved glass/mug is not worth a $100+ yearly membership IMHO. I get a discount with my membership and there should be a like discount for membership in the stein club. They want to raise it to $6. Fine. I just don't see any reason to continue the program at all if you don't receive some sort of benefit for it. You get a discount/benefit with your pass, and you don't seem to have a problem with that. Why do you have a problem with a discount for the stein club? My argument for the cost is based on the fact they are not losing money on the program. Not how much they charge for a beer.
My routine when I would go would be to get a beer and food in the Brauhaus. Of course, that was when they had good food in there. Now, we get a pretzel and beer. I always get something to eat while I drink my beer. I guess simply put; they do away with the stein club or change it drastically, and I'll have no reason to go into the Festhaus and subject myself to the loud music. At that point I will walk through the park with my refillable drink cup and fill it with water. Net result is they get nothing for my admission, and they get nothing for my parking, but I get the use of the park and I spend no money at all.
I guess if you don't agree then we'll just have to agree to disagree.
No one ever days there wouldn't be discounts. Just to expect that they go back to the pre COVID policy where you need to use the cup and it's only good at the Pub and the Brauhaus.

Yeah, and don't believe their statement that it is good for a year. It expires 12/31 of this year. It's printed right on the card. Also, in the past you could use the card at locations with draft beer. Not this year. It is good in the Brauhaus and Grogan's ONLY. I have been told it won't work at outside locations for Beerfest this year either.

And, beers cost $13 each this year. With the beer club you save $8 a beer.

I believe this has been addressed multiple times as being a COVID only thing that they did away with as Brauhaus and Grogans are back to “normal” operations.

So it’s confirmed it’ll be $5 for 16oz pours? I remember getting 12oz pours for a while with my membership last year though they did pour 16oz for the last few months of 2021, at least that was at Brauhaus. I don’t remember if Grogans ever poured 12oz for the members

So if my calcs are correct, breakeven is around 24 beers for the mug to make sense. I estimated $11 per beer with discount and tax, and $128 for the mug with tax plus $5.50 per fill with tax.

I used my stein club membership card all over the park last year. Including Beerfest and Food & Wine. If it was a draft beer, I got the discount. The first time I had a problem this year was at the bar setup inside the food area at the Festhaus. January & February it worked but tried it again last week and it doesn't work now.

No, they are not 16oz pours. They are 12oz. You will hear the cashier specify to the person pouring the beer that it is a stein/pint club pour. They do not fill the glass. They use an imaginary line on the plastic glass. High alcohol beers like Golden Monkey are still 10oz pours. Sometimes if they are busy enough they might mess up and give you a "full" pour but that is not the norm.

But a pint is 16oz, right? So by calling it a “pint club” one would reasonably assume that the pours would be 16oz, no?

Don't disagree. I'm just telling you what they pour. They use 16oz cups but they don't fill it all the way.

We were told Sunday at both Grogan’s and Brauhaus that the cards will continue to be honored. We went ahead and “renewed” our memberships at Brauhaus, and were given our cards. The only differences that were pointed out have been previously discussed; No F&W fills, and no renewal discount.

Refilled at Grogan’s with the card alone no problem. In fact both locations gave us the full 16 oz pours (but veteran employees called the new guys out on it ).

I got about 7 Stein pours this past weekend, most were closer to the full cup than the first line below the top. So if they were 16oz cups I guess the smallest pour I got was at least 14oz. Not too shabby but I guess time will tell

Overheard the staff at the Brauhaus discussing that they were told Stein Club Refill prices will possibly be raised soon. Wouldn’t this be a breach of contract?
Well they just completely cancelled the memberships in Florida when they felt like it so the odds are good they'll do whatever the fuck they want. (memberships there were sold with a 365 day membership and rolling sales up until about the month before they refused to fill them).

Are they issuing full or partial refunds...?

Just checked my stein club membership card. Nowhere on the card does it guarantee a $5 refill. Beyond that is the typical legalese by a statement that reads, "Benefit subject to change". Based on this being the only thing that could be interpreted as a "contract", I think we are screwed. It specifically states the card/membership is good until Dec 31, 2022. If they were to cancel it outright, I think they would have to refund on a pro-rated basis. Of course, with BGW, who knows?

Has anybody heard if there is going to be a stein club or pint club for 2023? Last I checked in November no TM had heard anything.

We asked the same thing in early December, and they had no clue. I messaged customer service today and they said that 2023 meal & dining plans are not currently known at this time on their end either.

We’re 2 weeks from 2023, how is this possible?

They did the same thing last year. It used to be if you renewed, they would give you a discount. They stopped that last year. They charge everybody the same amount and the membership is literally for the calendar year. The current membership will expire on December 31. It's going to be interesting to see if they come up with anything between Dec 31 and the park closing on Jan 8. No way I will pay $14 for a beer!
