"Bracelets will soon be used to track amusement park activity"

I realize the focus of the article is Disney, but how would this go over at BGW? What do you think?

The wristbands at Disney will be used to pay for meals/souvenirs, etc., enter your room, and give priority access to rides/experiences. Depending on your category of on-site room and/or type of annual pass your priority access to the rides/experiences i.e. rides, meet and greets, photo ops etc., will vary. Speculation has it that this may in part or whole replace the current fast-pass system at Disney. Busch could possibly use RFID bands for quick queue and payments but they have no equivalent of the Disney fast-pass system so use of the bands themselves wouldn't noticeably change the experience of current guests. Now if the rumored Busch resort emerges I can see that this would have an impact if implemented with priority perks for on-site guests.

That makes more sense than the article information. Thanks for giving much more detail and insight.

I remember talking to a few people before who were joking saying that one day there will be wristbands for everything and that guests will have their whole arm covered in wristbands, one for merchandise, one for quick queue, one for parking, one for admission, one for just anything you can think of. But to combine all the services in one wristband, is a really good idea.

Now as far as BGW getting something like this, I think it can happen. Well actually I think it will happen, one day in the future. I believe that wristbands are the future of theme park and amusement park experiences. Look at all the possibilites with them. The fact they can do so much with wristbands and how convenient wristbands are, it is bound to happen at any park.

The park already uses wristbands as a cashless way to carry money around. I can definitely see them expanding on tours, dining reservations, tickets, fastpasses, etc. I think it's a pretty good idea to do something line this instead of having to carry around cards (that can easily become lost/stolen and eventually become a waste of paper) for everything.

Busch/WCUSA actually uses a system like this... instead of liking it to a credit card, you put in money to the park and use it when you scan your wristband, much like a temporary debt card or a BGW gift card... if you dont use all the money by the end of the day, you can get the rest back when you leave... I believe it's called "Discovery Dollars"

It is linked to your credit card, or has a set amount on the band, it is yout choice of how you want it.

The topic at hand is actually MUCH more involved than what BGW is offering with the KTTW style charges.
