Rumor Bourbon Street Fireball & Zydeco Zinger Are No More

Looks like Six Flags America may be dropping two more flat rides for 2024. Both Bourbon Street Fireball and Zydeco Zinger have been removed from the park map and the website.

Given that Six Flags seems to want out of Larson Loops, the loss of Bourbon Street Fireball isn't surprising. Zydeco Zinger has long been an unpopular and problematic flat too—so again, not super surprising.

I just worry about how desolate that dead end will feel now.

Interesting. Six Flags Great America took down their Giga Loop, Mardi Gras Hangover, carefully and placed the pieces in the employee parking lot. There was some speculation that the ride might be relocated to another park.

Did Fireball once and it wrecked the rest of my day. Fun ride, but way too long into the point of no return.

I can definitely see why they dropped it as it has limited appeal and is very loud for those with sensory issues.

The day I went to SFA last year I had a great time, and it was actually a sensory friendly day. Had Bourbon Street Fireball been assembled and operating, the park had claimed it would not run as frequently to keep noise levels down.

These rides seem to be removing all over so that's not really a shock to see. SFA already has a "there used to be a flat ride here" vibe, this only adds to it.

I never got to ride Zydeco Zinger because I always went to Six Flags America alone. I finally have someone to bring with me and the ride was always down.

But ripping out so many flats sucks because it'll delay a possible new coaster - "Here, have a shiny new flat, better luck next year". Who am I kidding, it's SFA, we're coming up on ten years since a new coaster.

In my opinion Zydeco was trash. Horribly uncomfortable restraints, uneventful, boring ride, and it was always down.

Despite its considerably larger size, It was an all-around worse Zierer Flying Carpet. I even think that the Weber 1001 Nacht that used to be at Kings Dominion was considerably better (and I hated that thing too).

As a child, many memories of “Zinger,” which was called Star something at the time. I rode it while others rode Wild One. I would agree it’s not much of a ride, but was fun when I was young.

I think it was called the Falling Star originally. I do agree, I have a lot of memories of this ride when I was a kid going back to the Adventure World days. I last rode it back in 2020 and it was ok at best.
