WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 22, 2019) – Bier Fest has become an end-of-summer tradition at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg, satisfying a wide range of tastes with some of the country’s best beers. This year it’s even better with NEW beer selections, music talent and food offerings.
The annual festival returns to the “World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park” with more than 100 beers, including new taps throughout the event, brewery talks from popular craft breweries, live local bands and traditional German food.
Bier Fest takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Aug. 16 – Sept. 2. Beer bars throughout the park will offer guests unique draft and bottled beers from around the world, including a vast selection from Virginia craft breweries. The event is FREE with park admission. Beers are available for guests aged 21 and over, for an additional fee.
And what’s Bier Fest without authentic German food? This year’s menu features returning favorites like turkey legs and beer-battered bratwurst, and NEW selections including a bratwurst burger slider and pretzel bites with beer cheese and bacon.

Busch Gardens’ Burgermeister will host a firkin keg tapping ceremony on Fridays during the event.

Not only will the beer be cold, but park guests can enjoy sounds from top local bands:
  • Daily performances; fan favorite THE HAPPY DUTCHMAN will perform each day during Bier Fest.
  • Aug. 17; Good Shot Judy, a big amp jazz ensemble takes the stage.

Let's do some quick math. 10x4 = 40 oz / 12 = 3 1/3 beer.

$22 / 3-1/3 = $6.60 per beer.

So yes; this seems like a good deal.

I don't know the prices of full beers at this event; but based on other events they're probably $10-12 range.

Even with a member discount this seems like a good deal.

Yeah, the per-ounce price is so much lower than the usual BGW rate that it made me wonder whether the Bier Fest prices are usually lower.
 
With the sampler you got 40oz. Divide that by $22 and you get 55¢ per ounce. IIRC the beers during Bier Fest are $9.79. I can't remember if they are 16 or 20 oz. If they are 16 oz then they would be 61¢ per oz. If they are 20 oz then they will be 49¢ per oz.

Personally if they are 20 oz pours then I think the sampler is worth the extra $2 because you can have 10 different beers vs 2.

With the member discounts on individual beers it ends up being close or slightly better depending on the pass (assuming 16oz size). What we really need is a spreadsheet with a breakdown of all the types and ABV ?
 
And maybe reviews on how good each beer is?

If we put a Busch gardens logo in the sky will the food and wine tasting team assemble?

Problem is that the types can change from day to day or even over the course of the course. Some of the beers they only buy a few kegs and when they are gone they get swapped for something new

It's about the same per ounce either way, but the sampler is way more social and fun. My wife and I and another couple went and each couple got a sampler to split. It was great trying weird things i would never spend 10 bucks for a pint.
