This is the KD version of the BG thread.

I honestly think that Wednesdays are the best days to go. What do you think?

RE: Best days & times to avoid crowds (KD)

I typically go on Wednesdays and it seems to be the best to avoid any sort of group. Friday and Saturday seem to be the worst days. Any others are fine, but I agree that Wednesdays are the best.

How have the crowds been this year? I'm going to kings dominion next Saturday, and just wondering what to expect with crowds. The only time I've been to KD on a Saturday was with rain in the forecast. The park was dead.

It's actually been a lot busier than I've anticipated lately. The projected attendance for Thursday was low, but they ended up adding a train to all rides running single train operations at noon. Saturday I would expect a bit more of the same.

Here's some insider 'heads up' information about tomorrow. Stay away from the park tomorrow!!! They are expecting 29,000+ people on Saturday for the gospel 'joy fest' event.
This is funny. I was at the park today and I305 and Dominator were walk on all day. Rode I305 6 times, Dominator 4 tines, the new slides had 5 minute waits and the longest we waited was 20 minutes for Volcano. Yup.
EDIT: Didn't realize it was 12 (midnight) and that Maz's post was made on the same day I went to the park. Confused, I was.

Is Labor Day usually crazy busy? Haven't been to KD in 7 years. We'd like to ride everything without using Fast Lane, and I'm not sure if that will be possible on Labor Day...

Labor day crowds are actually not that bad. I went last year labor day and everything was like a 5-10 minute wait (except volcano duh). It's because it is the day before the first day of school here in VA. Of course, it is hard to predict crowds and it really all depends on weather and luck but if you spend the whole day there you should be able to get on every ride and do some re-rides.
