So, it turns out Travel Channel made a whole documentary about Halloween Horror Nights 2002: Islands of Fear (The only HHN to occur at IoA I believe)—It's called The Art of The Scare.
They have a ton of interesting interviews and backstage access—it's a nice thing to watch for those of us missing our scares already.
I've seen that documentary so many times, I remember watching it when it was brand new on tv. I was terrified of the idea of HHN. HoS seemed so scary, there was no way I could grasp how much scarier HHN was supposed to be.
I just remember them explaining how some of the scares worked - in one part they took a drill or impact hammer with some metal rod bit and ran it against some sheet metal
