Beast at Kings Island received some major trackwork over the off season into early Spring this year. This involved a major retracking and reprofiling of the first drop from 45 degrees to 53 degrees with the help of The Gravity Group. The final helix also received some major work to it as well. Along with all the track work, Irvine Ondrey Engineering did a control systems upgrade and IOE made a post from their perspective on the project. IOE even made the buzz bar system more efficient and sound really cool.

Went on it when we were at Kings Island last week. It was the first time I had ever been to KI, so I didn't know what to expect. I did know it was retracked but at the same time heard a lot from thoosies who really didn't like this ride. I'm happy to report that The Beast was very awesome, very smooth but yet still had some character to it, felt like a lengthy trip through the woods and it was unlike anything I had ever been on before. Very fun ride!
