After witnessing a train slip through the drive tires while it was raining only to be stopped by the friction brakes, I believe friction brakes need to be installed at all control points in addition to the drive tires as a backup.

Dorney Park's B&M's sorta do this. Such as Hydra, Talon, and Iron Menace.
