RE: Triple Spin

This is one of my favorite flat rides at KD. You get that weightless stomach feeling and they actually let it run for a good while. I've never felt short-changed at the ride duration. One of the coolest things to me is when they lower the cars back down to ground level but they're still spinning at what feels like the same rate. You can feel the force toward the right side of the car until they slow it down.

Loading tends to be a bit of an ordeal at times though because it seems like smaller children often attempt to ride alone or with someone who is tall enough but under 16 years old. This same thing happened to me today as well as the last two trips to the park. The good thing about that is that the ride operators are consistent and adhere to the height restrictions.

I'm sure many older fans are already aware, but I had no idea until now as to why Triple Spin was renamed Bad Apple instead of one of the many other apple-themed names the park had (Adam's Apple, Apple Turnover, etc.). Obviously the Bad Apple was one of the park's original apple rides, but I never realized how perfect Triple Spin was to carry Bad Apple's namesake:

Bad Apple was "monster" ride which bears a striking physical similarity to the HUSS Troika we have today. While Monsters are still in existence, I still find it very cool that the park did this. It's the little things.

I knew there was a ride called the Bad Apple, I didn't know it was a Monster. It's a pretty neat similarity, though.

So I glanced over the Delirium webcam just now and noticed, that along with Bad Apple's fresh coat of paint, it seems to also be receiving new on-board lighting. I can tell this by how there are new white tubes along the arms and structure of the entire ride, similar to how Windseeker's on-board lighting is setup. You can see that from a screenshot I took below:

It seems like it's really become a goal of KD's to light up the night(or blind everybody :p) in CAG.

On more of a tangent topic, when I first heard that Bad Apple was being repainted, I was hoping for a multi-color paint job like some of Cedar Fair's other troikas. Yellow, green, and red would have been great for thematic purposes, but I suppose it's good that it got a fresh coat none the less.

Cars are back on and testing is being performed. I can't wait to ride it on the 20th.

It looks like the cars were painted during the off season. I thought the top part of the car was originally a beige color. It appears the top of the cars are a pure white. Maybe to better reflect the new LED lighting?

I think so but I'm not certain. Guess we'll find out next week.
