We decided to make a quick Disney.. err Orlando trip before school starts up a month ago. We had several items on the agenda and Cheetah Hunt was a major one alongside my buying into Disney Vacation Club.

We arrived at the park around 10:30am or so to a park filled with 13-18 year olds in several tour groups traveling in packs. Storms were in the area so they perodically shut down rides throughout the morning and afternoon.

First up as we arrived we went to The Colony House upstairs restaurant to ensure a table for lunch. If you have never eaten there or plan on visiting BGT then it is a MUST! We were there some friends that live in Tampa and their three kids. We ordered the family meal packaged which was hand breaded fresh fried chicken and hand breaded fish. It was excellent! For 15.99 all you can eat with slaw, rolls, fries, mashed potatoes, vegetables, etc. You cannot beat it.

After we ate we decided to go hit Montu with platinum privileges. My opinion on this KILLS Alpen still stands. This coaster is excellent. The g's smash Alpen and it is a ton smoother. The area and track theming is beyond excellent and ads to the experience.

Next on the list was Gwazi. I have always enjoyed this coaster and was beyond excited to experience the new trains. They had JUST reopened it from some area lightning so we waited NO TIME. The new trains are a ton more comfortable and looking gorgeous. Leaving the first turn in the station you know you are in for a treat with the fresh cars. Going down the first drop the headache I had did get multiplied pretty quickly. That thing is FAST now! Very very fast but also very bumpy and jaw rattling. I guess that is how a good woodie should be however. It was fun even with the feeling that my fillings were going to be jolted loose.

The other coasters had a not too bad wait and were all fun. For some reason I prefer Sheikra over Griffon. Why you ask? I do not know! Kumba's roar as always did nothing but insert a smile on my face.

Now on to Cheetah Hunt. I think that ride is aesthetically the most beautiful newer age coaster I have ever seen. We used my mother's handicap pass to bypass the 60 minute wait to maximize our day. The station theming and the method used to incorporate the Skyway was top notch. Major props to BGT for how they set it all up. The harnessed took some getting used to with the newer style but were comfortable during the ride. The first launch out of the station to the biggest launch was nice and graceful. The tall twist was slow but gave some outstanding views of the park. The drop of it was some good fun. This ride is the smoothest I have been on in my life by far! I will do this every time I visit that particular park without hesitation. I can only hope our new one can be as fun.

As far as the condition of the parks goes; it was clean. All the restrooms were fresh and clean. Paint everywhere was intact and not chipping. Employees were on top of picking up trash and ensuring the park was clean. A couple of restrooms looked like they had to replace some faucets however. Those replaced faucets were not replaced by new ones yet but by the old "A" that we love so much. That brought a smile to my face.

Imaginique fanbois would love a certain show there as well.

Nice TR.

I'll be heading down to Orlando this fall for Food & Wine and Festival of the Masters so I'm gonna head over to BGT one of those days I'm there.

Did you get to ride Montu from 1996-1998? The ride was unreal then. No trims and the mid-course brake didn't grab too hard.

Nice trip report, ScoutN. Glad to see you liked Cheetah Hunt. *Crosses fingers for FL trip later this year*

We plan on going to orlando in early october, a couple days at tampa, then orlando the rest of the week, Seaworld, Universal parks, and HHN.

Are the lines bad at cheetah hunt all day? I wonder if I got there at opening and went straight to it, if I could get on a little quicker...

Thanks, bro. After i30Die catastrophe of a coaster my hopes were not high. The coaster itself is not intense whatsoever. It was just a fun easy going SMOOTH coaster with some fun elements. The "left right" section had to take the cake for my favorite part. The ride videos you see when you get off are pretty cool too.

I do not know how old you are but try to visit the Seminole Casino in Tampa. It is a fun place to visit and some great lounges and restaurants.

The line was bad at 10:30 when we got there. It was actually around 90 minutes at that point. I would expect the fall to be safe and not too bad. Our Winter and Fall trips have yielded little to lines on the coasters as it was. I don't think Hunt will be too bad.
