I think is awesome that they were able to rescue and perform surgery on the bird. The story does beg the question, however: Why was there an injured eagle on MacDill AFB on the 4th of July to begin with?
I am NOT trying to claim this was some publicity stunt at all. I am wondering if some idiot thought a bald eagle would be a great "prop" (for lack of a better word) for Independence Day. The timing is all to serendipitous for my tastes.
