Screamscape is reporting that in a memo sent out to all SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment employees, it is stated the following:

"There will be a continuing connection between Anheuser-Busch and BEC [now SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment]. The “Busch Gardens” name will be used in the Busch Gardens parks, and Anheuser-Busch will be a corporate sponsor in all but the San Diego and Sesame Place parks."

Did any employees from the park get this email?

I find it interesting that they will not have anything to do with the San Diego SeaWorld and Sesame Place. I've never been to either of these so I cannot think of anything, any of you?

Sesame Place is easy: it's a kid's park. They wouldn't have an alcoholic beverage company as a corporate sponsor. More likely, they'd have Pepsi.

As for San Diego, I'm not sure unless they have some rule in place about an alcoholic beverage having naming rights or something. It can't be partnership, because you have baseball and football there. However, those San Diego-ans are an odd bunch, so who knows.

But, this does explain why Williamsburg and Tampa will still be known as Busch Gardens.

Sesame Place makes sense. The reason for the San Diego SeaWorld probably has something to do with the crazy state of CA. They are a very odd bunch... (Sorry if you lived/are living in CA, but you know it is true, right?)

Theyare very strange. I'm related by blood to one I guess you could say. My little brother was born in SF when our dad was stationed out there. I'll bet that the'll have nothing to do with the SD location, because everything out their is assoc with a studio and Busch doesn't do movies or tv.

Screamscape is thinking the same thing we are (that it is some CA laws). Here's the link: http://www.screamscape.com/html/industry_news.htm#BuschEnt (it is long for a Screamscape article, but it is good).

Just like CA and their "equal opportunity for everyone! (but don't use anything that consumes gasoline because it'll kill the environment and your pockets...)"

Yeah, that last bit is just me, but hey, that's how they look to every other state.

I know I'm posting this late, but Screamscape posted more on the subject here: http://www.screamscape.com/html/industry_news.htm#BuschEnt
