I hate this, but only because it used "early 2000's" and "classics" in the same phrase.

Back in my day we would have flipped out over BGW filling the Globe Theatre with some shitty American pop musical revue. Now I'm not even surprised. What a fucking entertainment disaster we've found ourselves in at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

If they really wanted a trashy, low-budget, low-effort, amusement park song and dance show to throw up in the Globe because they're completely out of actual ideas, why couldn't they have–and bare with me here, I know this idea is EXTREME–made British Jukebox. They coulda used the same format as American Jukebox, they coulda still tried to play up the nostalgia or whatever–just use British pop music. Imagine that. So simple. They just don't care at all anymore though. The place is truly creatively bankrupt.

It's a shame too, all of the theaters in the park have so much character and potential, especially the Globe. They're barely using the ones they have now for anything good besides Celtic Fyre and the Bird/Shenanigans Theater is abandoned. You'd think for a place with a huge entertainment budget, they'd have better shows and decent events.

I have no idea how anyone here feels about Festhaus shows but I actively avoid the Festhaus when shows are playing. I don't find them the least bit enjoyable since the stage reno in 2012ish.

Would've done a small-scale Shakespeare inspired show with a set design and costumes evoking the Elizabethan period. But no, we have this instead. Good grief even Britmania made some amount of sense in the Globe. Not much but it made sense.

It’s great to see the Globe actually have a park production this summer. This will be a good change. Their area themed shows are so tired and worn out. Especially Celtic Fyre after 12ish years of the same show.

One of the best shows I have seen at Busch was Night Beats Revamped. Pop music with excellent choreography.

How American Jukebox will go will depend off the playlist, and if it features dedicated dancers with great choreography. If it’s a budget show (which I fear given the parks direction) with the vocalists doing high school moves then it will probably be cringy.

At least it’s a new set? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This being in the Globe still bothers me from an immersion standpoint, but I know I, and basically all of us, are not in the majority of casuals who wouldn’t even notice the issue. As long as the show is good and eats capacity, it’ll serve SEAS purposes.

Was this show made by BGW or is this a show made by an outside company? I’d like to know if corporate came up with the idea or if it was pitched by the park. Seems relatively high budget which is the very reason I want to know why fuck this is where the entertainment budget went…

They could have spent the same amount of money for something very similar yet different and THEMED to any of the many countries represented in the park.

The show is alright and talent is solid. Would be really great at any other park. But at BGW, this doesn’t belong. What a poor job by whomever green lit this. BGW is so disconnected from its fans. What a shame.
