So SFgam is my home park I live 10 mins away and I have been going there as long as I can remember. I have always had an attachment to American eagle because of personal reasons and it’s just a super underrated great ride. But sadly over the years it hasn’t been the same. I feel like since it’s not racing it have taken away from one of the most important aspects of the ride. Now I hear people say that six flags should RMC it and convert it into a hybrid. But knowing six flags they wouldn’t do that and it doesn’t make since. A RMC would ruin a ride like AE. It is one of the few airtime based woodies left. I feel like a hybrid conversation would take away from the airtime and experience of the ride. RMC conversations are meant for trash rides and American eagle is not one of them. However they need to get it racing again. The ride is just not the same without racing and people don’t want to ride it because of that. Instead of a RMC I feel like they could give it a GCI retrack or something along the lines of that. They should keep it the same rollercoaster but insure that it will last for other generations to enjoy. That’s just my option on it. Let me know what you think.

The park has 4 different B&M Models. An RMC conversion of AE wouldn't do much that Goliath already does.
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. they don’t need another Rmc. They have everything they could need

Although I could see them possibly doing a in house retrack, because of Viper and what they do with El Toro at SFGA
(just speculation tho)

Came here to talk about Eagle racing again. I would love, when Cedar Fair takes over, if they could fix whatever issues Eagle has and get it racing again. They seem to love giving their wooden coasters love as of late so I think there's a good chance it'll happen.

American Eagle is my favorite roller coaster in the world whenever it’s racing. But it doesn’t do that anymore.

Six Flags refuses to maintain the structure to allow it to race.

But it’s just a statement on how poorly that park is maintained overall. It’s become such a run down park over the last decade. Weeds growing, where there should be landscaping. Neglected buildings.

Six Flags has totally trashed the original concept of the park with all their awful superhero theming.

well, blame the time warner buyout of six flags & not to mention the 2009 bankruptcy for six flags addiction with superhero theming

In concept, American Eagle is a great ride, but actually riding it? I was a little underwhelmed. I thought it would be a plus sized Racer, but the airtime on the return run isn't really that strong. Fortunately the ride is pretty smooth, and the speed you pull after the first drop is really fun. I heard the front row is better, but I didn't have a lot of time to spend in the park and I had bigger priorities when I was there, so I couldn't get a third ride in like I planned.

Viper is still the best wooden coaster in the park, but it helps that the original it was based on is such a world class coaster.
