So I got to experience something unusual tonight at BGW. I was over by Apollo crossing the Festa Bridge just as the fireworks were ending. Once I got to the other side, there was a group of about 5 TMs redirecting all of use back into Festa to exit the park through the FoF/Apollo service roads. They did have the gate open by Pompeii if we did want to reenter the park. I asked several TMs as to the reason why they were forcing us this way, and was told it was a crowd control measure due to the fact that the San Marco bridge is so small. Pompeii’s area was still accessible from the Scotland side. There were about a total of 12 TMs in total directing traffic and when I went back by Pompeii at around 9:55, the bridge was reopened. There was a sign and some generator powered lights setup which makes me think that this was planned. Does anyone one else have any other info about why and what was going on? I did attach some rather bad photos of the whole thing as well.
