Flat Ride
Adirondack Outlaw is a great ride. While it may not initially seem like much, this is my personal my favorite thrill ride. It's intense, has a menacing appearance, it's got speed and unpredictability. What makes this ride extra great, particularly at the Great Escape, is the view. Since the ride is a giant pendulum with a carriage on either end, it essentially offers 2 cycles; one forward and one in reverse. While waiting for the opposite ride carriage to load passengers, one will be afforded a nice 5 minutes to take in the beautiful view of the park and surrounding ADK mountains from about 167 feet in the air. Once those riders are loaded, it's back to the action again! The only area where this ride is lacking, in my opinion, is capacity. It only seats 8 riders in each carriage for a maximum of 16 riders... not great. But at a smaller park like the Great Escape, it fits well. It's quite photogenic too and fits thematically. I am excited to ride it again on opening day this season!!

Do you have any thoughts on the Outlaw?

These Booster rides are the only ones that ever truly freaked me out while on the ride. Did the one at Steel Pier probably about 7 years ago and haven’t felt that since.

Granted, I won’t do tower swingers anymore either, but I always enjoyed them when I was on them, something just clicked one day and made them a “hell no” for me.

I don't think they built one yet, but Funtime does offer the ride doubled up. Still not great throughput, but it makes the ride throughput more bearable for a medium sized park. As is, Adirondack Outlaw often has the longest line in the park. Although I have not been to SF St. Louis since Catwoman's Whip (same ride) was installed, I assume it also commands quite the line.
