No thread for this cute kids show? My daughter loves it! I don't know how long it has been around, but I have seen it this year, last year, and 2010. C is for cookie (and Christmas!!).

RE: A Sesame Street Christmas

I remember all the complaints about this show. Some parents hated it because of just two simple lines.

Abby: Is it someone's birthday?

Elmo: No, it's Christmas.

This enthralled religious parents and started a war as great as the sundial war ;)

RE: A Sesame Street Christmas (? to Present)

The first time seeing this show I didn't even catch the phrase it wasn't until an angry angrier than angry birds parent came out and said something about it. I thought the show was just fine the way it was..... and I am a Christian.

In all seriousness, everybody knows the popular origins of the show. At this point it just comes off as self-centered and douchy.

My adult kids, husband and I really enjoy this show. The costumes allow the performers to be very animated and they are all goofing around with each other the whole time even when they aren't the focus of the show at the moment. Favorite line from Cookie Monster (paraphrased since I haven't seen it since last year)....I left out cookies for Santa...and he ate them...follow the sad look. If you are touring with young children...or just Sesame Street Fans, as we are, this show is a winner. I am a religious Christian and have seen this show probably 10 times and never even realized the supposed Jesus diss...some people are hypersensitive.

"The real meaning of Christmas is being with your family."
Paraphrase from Elmo (or Big Bird?). No one is railing about this statement?!? Hehe.

Something has been bothering me about this show and it finally hit me on this last evening of the season. Abby, the pink fairy thing, starts to sing "Let it Snow" in attempt to magically make it start snowing. Harmless enough, right? Well, when she first appears in the show, she makes it crystal clear that she knows nothing of Christmas, its traditions, carols, or even "Sandy Claws", leaving the other characters in shock and disbelief. How could she possibly know the words to this Christmas song? I guess it's another Christmas miracle.

More proof that BGW is now just a lazy s*** hole that is run by incompetent buffoons. How could they let set an egregious oversight slip by?

RE: A Sesame Street Christmas (2009 to Present)

Perhaps because Let It Snow is a song about Earth atmospheric conditions and not necessarily Christmas itself.

You guys realize Sesame Xmas shouldn't there this season (2013) because the Globe is being renovated. This actually a real good and popular show for Christmastown.

Well, honestly I thought they were going to try to finish the renovations by December, allowing them to have Sesame there, but are you saying this renovation will take longer?

I do agree it is a very good show and popular with the families with younger children. Such a shame to see it disappear.

RE: A Sesame Street Christmas (2009 to Present)

The plan from the beginning as far as I know was for A Sesame Street Christmas to have its final showing at the end of Christmas Town last year. Hence the following in my post from early January:

There's actually a reason behind recording this one- not that I can talk about it. ;)

Everything I've heard recently says that the above plan has yet to change.
