If this is approved it will go on the Tropicana property.

I say it like that all the time...hahaha. I'm pretty unfiltered in case you didn't already know. :) At least until my Mom & Grandma are around....then I get slapped. lol

Interesting ride from the looks of it. Kind of like a Stratosphere tower coaster (I've ridden that before they tore it down) but with a steeper spiral drop. That outta be for a more exciting ride!! I can't wait to try it if it gets built!

Still, in my humble opinion, if Abu Dhabi can build the Formula Rossa (and boy, THAT was one bad ASS launch!!!) then Vegas can do it too, only BIGGER!

Before I read this article, I was thinking they were going to have a coaster w/a 650ft chain lift hill or something. Now THAT would be impressive beyond belief....

The Tropicana is horrible. Did they just pick that location because there's another coaster across the street?

What you said first.

The Tropicana needs some life injected into it. It is surrounded by five marquee MGM properties (MGM Grand, Luxor, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay and New York New York Hotel and Casino). All of those properties except Excalibur house a Cirque du Soleil show and most of them have fantastic restaurants and huge nightclubs to draw in people. The Trop doesn't have any of those and an attraction like this could help boost people traffic through the casino floor.

Also, because Tropicana is toward the southern end of the strip, it NEEDS something like this to boost it's profile considering it's neighbors. Right now, it doesn't even host any big things like the World Series of Poker. The NYNY hotel's got a coaster on the property as well. Makes sense for them to build something like this.

Seems like a terrible Idea. It may be the tallest coaster in the world, But once the word gets around that the height is only a gimmick and it's not moving at 130+ miles an hour and the trains are self-propelled, It'll fail...

It's Vegas and people will ride regardless because gimmicks sell there.

It's inexplicable how the coaster at the NYNY Hotel still operates considering how rough and horribly paced it is but the tourists still flock to it.

Don't forget they charge an arm and a leg for it.

^^ I actually had more fun on the coaster at the top of the Stratosphere Tower back when they had it running. Sure it was just two laps around the helix surrounding the top, but DAMN son....1000 feet up off the ground & the view of the Vegas strip at night was pure magic. VERY much worth the $15 I think I paid for my ride.

I Thought it was an awesome ride. Sure I had a leg cramp afterward but it was still fun. Speed was great too.

It's actually not that expensive when you compare it to other Vegas attractions and entertainment. Madame Tussauds admission at the Venetian is $30 and a gold circle seat at "O" by Cirque du Soleil in Bellagio cost $200. Many of the clubs, bars and lounges will even charge you more for one drink than the cost of one ride on the NYNY Coaster.

I just don't feel that it's worth paying anything for.

When I went to Vegas a couple years ago, all I did was look for magic stores (as I am a magician). I got some pretty cool tricks. I also went to see a magician and went to the M&M world. I don't gamble, so that's basically all I did.

The buffet at the Wynn Hotel sure as hell is worth paying for, however. :)
Plus, the NYNY coaster, if you think about it, is far cheaper than dropping $60+ dollars for admission to anywhere there's a roller coaster these days. (except Knoebel's, but that's not exactly located in Vegas)

The NYNY Coaster has an all day ride pass for $25. It would be totally worth it if the ride was good but it simply is not. People should be paid to ride it!!!

The Wynn Buffet is yesterdays news. It's all about Bacchanal at Caesar's Palace and Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan!!!

On a side note, Unagi, check out my review on my trip to Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi. The food I got fed on my flight on Emirates Airlines ought to make you go crazy, bro. :)

Dude,

I use to live in Vegas so I had my fair share of Hash House. I never went to the one at the Imperial Palace. I always went to the West Sahara location as it was closer to my house.
