For anyone who went this weekend how was it? Aside from new tower for Cutback any other unexpected changes? Hope to get there next weekend!

Agreed, also wondering what the other new improvements look like that were referenced by the park president in an email to members at the beginning of the year. I believe that was something about improvements to the front gate area, Wave Pool improvements, and of course the new ride. If anyone has pics, please post soon. :)

I’m really happy to see that they preserved pretty much all the trees that used to surround Rampage. I loved Rampage, but one of my favorite things about it was how secluded it was, nestled in that forested corner of the park. Wonderful to see that that setting has survived and just been passed on to a new attraction.

I wasn't there this weekend, but judging from their map it looks like Jet Scream was painted different colors. View attachment 28961
It's definitely getting a repaint this year, which was sorely needed, you could barely tell the difference between the white and blue slides. They already have some of the yellow on one slide and some of the blue has been painted. This is going to look great when completed!

They sent out the date for members night. June 16.

Any idea on when cutback is going to open back up?
I would guess it will be a while. The tube lift is not attached, no safety railings anywhere, no water pumps or systems on the tower. Not connected to the ride slide. It looks like a ton of work. It'll be interesting to see how quickly they progress. It just wasn't nearly as far along as i expected.

It may have been fine last season, and when getting inspected for this season was found to be structurally unstable. In which case, they couldn’t possibly have enough time to disassemble the necessary slide pieces, store them, knock down the old tower, put up a new one, and re-assemble said slide pieces, all before the park opened. But who knows the actual reason?

I find that absolutely absurd, they most definitely could have done all of the in the off season and had it ready for opening day. It is the most popular slide in the park.
I am actually surprised they didn't rebuild the tower when they put Cutback in, because it was already wobbly. That said, wondering if the tower was not on the to-do list this past offseason but got added late with a possible failed inspection?

At the time the location was chosen so that they could reuse the existing tower to save money rebuilding it would have negated that plan. Also it has been 4 years a the failure of another tower since Cutback opened it may now look like it should have been an easy call in 2018 when they started planning but you have to remember to look at it from the 2018 prospective
