2018 HOS Blood Drive (Sep 28)

Once again, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is offering a free 2019 ticket to anyone who donates blood during Howl-O-Scream. As before you will need to register in advance, and admission on Sep 28 is required.

I hope this is a successful program, and it is a great benefit to offer to encourage donation! I got free tickets when I adopted my dog from the SPCA, so I appreciate programs like this to reward good deeds.

I will keep my mouth closed about the fact the Red Cross won't let me donate blood being gay, but I am healthy enough to donate a kidney this year. But sure, my blood is too dangerous. (I get their reasoning, still bitter. And not the point of this discussion)

I wish I could give blood, I use to give it every few months and platelets every 2 weeks. Sadly they wont take mine anymore...

Out of curiosity, do they warn donors to stay off of rides for a certain period of time? I'm not even sure this would be necessary, but based on how I feel after donating blood, if I got on a ride afterwards I'd probably pass out.
