Here is the biggest change for the 2016 entertainment for Kings Dominion, limited time shows at the Peanuts Showplace amphitheater. KD is calling it the "Summer Celebration Series". It appears that the park will bring outside entertainment for 16 day limited runs between Memorial Day and Labor day weekends. There are no details yet on who is coming and [there appears to be one empty time slot (late July - early August).] Each time slot begins on a Friday and ends two weeks from the following Sunday. Right now there are 3 time slots listed.

5/27 - 6/12
6/24 - 7/10
[potential 4th slot | 7/22 - 8/7]
8/19 - 9/5

I think Canada's Wonderland did something like this last year. I Might need to nose around and see what sort of acts they had in 2015.

Busch Dominion's latest front-page article is up! The article takes a comprehensive look at the 2016 entertainment lineup, and explains in-depth what to expect from the upcoming new shows, as well as the new summer entertainment series. There is also a comparison to the previous years' lineups, and a summary of all of the information that's available so far.

As I stated earlier, I did find information on who Canada's Wonderland had lined up for their 2015 rotating entertainment venue. CanWon had 4 acts that performed during the summer. I took the following from their web site.

West Coast Lumberjack Show: (June 27 – July 12) Internationally recognized for their daredevil lumberjack skills having recently been featured on The Bachelor Canada, Canada’s Got Talent and Amazing Race Australia, these lumberjacks will entertain guests of all ages while competing in Log Rolling, Tree Climbing, Axe Throwing, Chainsaw Carving, and more.

Chinese Acrobats: (July 14 – August 3) The Chinese Acrobats will showcase their amazing displays of contortion, flexibility, and control as they push the envelope of human possibility with astonishing juggling dexterity and incredible balancing feats.

Ultimate Thrills Circus: (August 5 – August 23) A spectacular live action experience, the Ultimate Thrills Circus will feature the Cybertron Motorcycle, Russian Swing, Aerial Ring, Wheel of Destiny and the insanities of circus clown – Renaldo.

X-Treme Wheels Stunt Show: (August 25 – September 7) Following tours in the United States, China, India, Europe, and Canada, the CrazeCrew stunt team will take over International Showplace and perform their world class skills, and incredible tricks on BMX bikes, skateboards, inline skates, and next-generation pogo sticks.

The park also had a Dog show; but, that did not seem to be a part of the main summer event above, as that event ran just weekends in May and June.

WoofJocks: Canine All-Stars showcase their tricks and abilities at International Showplace – May & June Weekends

As I stated in my earlier post, Kings Dominion has 3 show time slots listed currently. Based on the spacing out of the events, there is a potential for a 4th time slot in late July / early August. As each show ends, there is a 11 day gap where the Peanuts Showplace will be dormant (Mon. - Sun. | Mon. - Thur.). I assume that time is for the breakdown of one show and the set up time for the next. Maybe the park listed the time slots based on who they currently have contracted with so far. Anyway, you can get an idea of what could be coming for 2016 at KD based on what CanWon had in 2015.

Here is something I did not know. Kings Island's version of "Playlist LIVE!" features a live band. I would be very pleased if Kings Dominion's version of the show also has live musicians.
