I know this is a bit early but the park will be celebrating it's 40th anniversary in 2015. Any ideas on how or if the park plans to celebrate this? Any special merchandise or something?

DarKastle was the big new thing for 2005, so chances are it'll be a shiny new major ride if the park decides to acknowledge the anniversary.

Anyone know if the park did anything in 1995/1985 for the 10th and 20th anniversaries?

The park did acknowledge 10 years for Apollo, 25 for BBW, and 30 for Loch Ness, so they may do a park-wide celebration for the 40th.

If they don't do anything for their 40th, they should definitely do something for their 50th because that is like half a century right there.

The park acknowledged Nessie's 25th anniversary with ACE. ACE had their first Coaster Con the same year Nessie opened so the organization made it a point to celebrate their Silver Anniversary at BGW.

As far as the 10th and 20th anniversary of the park I don't think the park really acknowledged them. They may have advertised it in some way but there was no major attraction added those years to coincide with those dates.

TDO did it for the fanbois who would snort up merchandise at stupid high prices; not for love of the park. DLR did it for the loveeeeeee.

SO did they give free cake to all the guests that visited that day? Or did the park feed it to employees or throw it out?
