I grew up on YCDTOT and Turkey TV. I think the strange Nick shit in the 80s was way stranger than the strange Nick shit in the 90s - it's just way fewer people were watching so it flew under the radar.

I agree its most representative of BGW. But I think some people ascribe more weight to LNM than what's actually justified with regards to historical significance. I guess it just shows how nebulous "iconic" means.
