If you guys have the chance to see Australian Pink Floyd they're pretty good. I got to see them in 2017, It was a really good show when they came to Portsmouth. Almost went last year too, but something came up. ):
Not quite the same as the real thing, but it's pretty close.
It wasn’t for me a long time ago...but when I was in HS we did a “coffee house” as a small group orchestra (I was a tuba/sax player) and we did a 3 song DMB set. Had to listen to understand what I was playing, and I fell in love.
DM went to Shenandoah University (Then Shenandoah College and Conservatory) a few years before I attended. He was invited to leave after his sophomore screening juries. Rumor had it he showed up to his jury stoned out of his mind and could not play. I suspect this is just an old wives tale, but far be it for me to not pass it on.
Mary Poppins Returns is actually a sequel that continues the story; it's not a straight remake which most people confuse it as. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's songs are wonderfully written and the majority of them are a big part of the story of the film which most modern live-action musical films don't do anymore.
I'm digging into the "I made you a mix tape because I am 17 and don't know how to talk to girls," vault. (17 year old me was kind of annoying... (leave it alone sis) It is worth noting that in my mid 40s I still don't)
Best song from any of their post sell out albums...
If I am being completely honest, "When In Rome," is actually a terrible name.
Be honest, if you are old enough you have listened to this song and you probably have also gotten a little weepy when listening to it by yourself... Also look how young and un-Achtung Baby they all are! (It has been said before, but why doesn't Larry get a cool name?) (also I don't care what VH1 says, still have to be in the top 5 greatest Rock and Roll bands of all time)
To be fair, when I was in high school I did not think of this song as creepy... Also in college my girlfriend thought it was super sweet that I dedicated this song to her on my 80s show. (yes, I had an 80's New Wave show at my campus radio station.)
These guys do not get nearly enough play time these days...
All the feels
Okay, again I was 17, it didn't seem creepy...
Yeah, no good reason, but it always found its way onto my mix tapes... Sue me.
Because I always wanted them to know I had musical depth. It was not till I was at school at a Conservatory that I understood how damn talented they were.
So if you excuse me, I am off now to write very significant poetry devoid or rhyme or meter! No doubt I the phrase, "she walks in beauty" will show up. Maybe I will put it on the door of my locker so some girl might ask me about it!
