Uhhh... According to a Reddit user at the park right now, Twisted Timbers valleyed sometime this morning.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews and lack of excitement for this ride on these boards, particularly as to the ride being slow, but I got a chance to ride this on Friday night, and I have to say, I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I've been on a couple of other RMCs: Iron Rattler at SFFT and New Texas Giant at SFOT. After all the rave reviews of NTG, I was a bit disappointed by the ride when I finally got to it last year. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun, but I think being the first RMC gave it such a good reputation and gave me higher hopes. I was far more taken with Iron Rattler, which is just a stellar ride. I didn't have super high expectations for Twisted Timbers given that it was a makeover of Hurler, a much smaller and less classic ride than the other two makeovers I had ridden, and my experience wasn't off to a great start. The ride was down the overwhelming majority of the day, and when it finally returned to operation that night, the line grew weary. Even though the queue was far from filled, the operation of only one train and the use of a sorter in the station (which I absolutely loathe as some of you may know) caused the wait to ultimately swell over 90 minutes. By the time I finally boarded, I was pretty tired and I remarked to my friend that the ride had better be worth it. It was. This ride is more Iron Rattler than New Texas Giant for me. Sure, it doesn't have the tall or steep drop that either offers, but I enjoyed the barrel roll drop quite a bit. I will say that King's Dominion really exaggerates the marketed "20 hills" or "20 airtime moments" by including several small dips that comprise other larger hills that I wouldn't count. However, this ride has lots of airtime, and not just that, it has lots of good airtime, which is an important distinction for me. There was a good bit of ejector air that I really enjoyed and I thought the ride did a great job of replicating the feel of a wooden coaster without being rough in the slightest. The ride lasted a decent time, especially considering the relatively small 109 ft drop, and the overall experience really blew me away. This ride packs a punch that similar larger rides don't, and I appreciate it. I also always appreciate a ride that's willing to take you upside down and only give you a lap bar. The restraints are comfortable and allow for free range of movement for the upper half of the body, which I love. All ages can enjoy this one, and I think there's a lot to offer for enthusiasts. The biggest con here is the theming, which is a usual strike for KD. There's obviously something to do with strange goings-on at an apple orchard, but then there seems to maybe be something with aliens? I couldn't tell. Despite this, they've done a great job turning an old mediocre woodie into a great ride for everyone. Well done, KD.

Last night they had restraint issues on the blue train. After about 30 minutes of trying to figure it out, they just blocked off the 2nd row with a trash can and opened the ride back up.

Got on the second to last train of the night. Good glory! There was a ten minute rain delay and then boom! My first night ride and it was lights out! I don't know if it was the rain, or if it was just dialed in, but it was plain wicked! I do look forward to having this coaster in my backyard forever. That is all.

I did it Sunday.

10/10

At some points this ride makes i305 feel tame. It's a bite sized coaster that packs a punch and never lets up. The ride is, dare I say... Fast and Furious.

Lines were good April first. Everything but Volcano and FOF and TT were basically walk-on's all day. There was some downtime in the morning and ops were telling really bad jokes over the microphone... Ride was down for like 15 minutes and half the line left. was a 5 minute wait once it got going again. 10-20 minutes for the rest of the day. Dispatch times were REALLY slow, but I'm sure they will improve.

This forced locker system is REALLY annoying though... It's RIDICULOUS You have to pay to store items while you ride if you didn't bring anyone with you to hold your items. Also, the lockers are all away from the ride gates. Offer the lockers for free while you ride, or give guest more locker time than 2 hours. It's ridiculous you have to pay, go to your locker then go back to extend the time. Put a hamper on my enjoyment of the park having to consider how long we have the locker, etc.

Bring back the bins.

Apparently, TT was down and not cycling the whole time Zachary was there this evening.

We were there at like 4ish and it was running good...there were a few people walking around outside the back fence on our last ride.

Geeky kinda question, but Zachary what type of camera do you use? That picture looks great!

As for TT: It sounds like this is something common to RMC's. I'm hoping that TT got the new wheels (with the Gen 2 trains I hope they did!). Otherwise the only answers are the temp swings are messing with it or it's going through the break in period.

I never go on rants, but here I go. Today Sat. 4-14, my son and I rode Twisted Timbers for the 6th time. My son is 51 inches by the way. Well apparently Kings Dominion changed their policy Twisted Timbers earlier in the week I was told (mind you we already rode it twice earlier in the day). Skip forward to around 7:30 pm, we got back in line to ride Timbers. We passed the entrance and the employee at the front of the ride let us in and said nothing. We continue to wait about an hour to get on. I notices a lot of kids were doing the walk of shame after boarding Timbers. I didn't pay too much attention to it since we have ridden 6 times already (2 times already today). We get into the back row and then were told he was not able to ride because the lap bar didn't completely touch my sons lap (it was about 1/4 inch away). They made us get off the ride. We were not alone. A kid in front of us had a orange wrist band (meaning he was at least 54 inches) also being told he wasn't able to ride. This is ridiculous. A kid who is able to ride a 305 foot coaster that is more intense then Twisted Timbers was not allowed to ride. I talked to a supervisor (Jay) at Timbers and he said it was a new policy earlier in the week that the manufacturer imposed. OK, I am not one to fight safety, BUT we already rode Timbers 2 times earlier in the day with no mention of this "new policy". Many kids were told to exit Timbers just during the 10 minutes I sat at the exit complaining to the supervisor. Are they now going to have to check height and "girth" for kids at the test seat? I do not understand this. Isn't this why there is a seat belt. The lap bar on Racer 75 and Grizzly doesn't completely touch my son, but he is able to rid those rides, and Grizzle is a heck of a lot rougher than Timbers. Do you think they will eventually change the height requirement for Timbers? Not to mention the 2 dollars I was out renting a locker for my drink cup that I couldn't take in line. I was disappointed that my son meet every posted requirement for the ride and was still turned away. I would of been a lot less angry if the employee at the entrance notified us of this policy change, so I didn't have to waste my time and money on a very busy Saturday night. I went to Guest services and talked to a Ride Ops manager. She said that they have had numerous other complaints tonight about the same situation. She did give me "many" single use Quick Queue passes to compensate me. Guest Services was really excellent in the way they handled the situation. I still wonder if this is RMC imposed or Kings Dominion imposed. Also something must of happened for this to occur. I wonder if there has been any injuries to kids with the insane amount of airtime on Timbers. Rant over. On a side note, I was inline for Timbers this morning and the ride was down, but while waiting in line a lady 5 persons back passed out and hit the ground. She was unresponsive for over 15 minutes. It took KD security and First Aid over 8 minutes to respond. The poor young employee with the height stick didn't know what to do. Other people in line were the ones trying to help her. It's hard to stand in line for over an hour at the entrance for Timbers with no shade, and without them letting any loose articles like drink cups to keep you hydrated. This may be a more common thing during the summer when the temperature really increases.

We got to the park about 6 and TT was cycling with empty trains and no one in the queue. We came back there a few times and never saw anyone riding.

I am no way defending anything that happened to you; if that really is a new policy, it was very badly handled.

That said, I wonder if this is because of the way TT slams your thighs into the lap bar? I know my legs were sore, after I rode it. Maybe some people who had a gap above their thighs were getting bad bruises?

Or maybe the whole episode was pure nonsense.

Sounds a little strange for it to seemingly change mid-day. I personally feel like a park might get complaints and change their policy and blame it on the manufacturer because there's no one to defend them present. It really sounds like some people said something and the park made the call themselves (IMO).

I say this because I've been on 5 different RMC's now and not once has that been a thing I've seen.

It opened back up around 7:45ish. At one point today 5 coasters were closed, bad apple, windseeker, and drop tower. It was a maintenance nightmare today.

Add Effiel to that, we got stuck there briefly when the elevator broke.
