This video was sent out to a few of the BGW media reps showcasing Summer Nights. There’s a lot of vibrant modern elements, drastically different to the European background of the park, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Hopefully this pulls some people in.

We tried some of the food at the event. I thought I’d share our general thoughts.

We really enjoyed the pork tacos, the bacon on a stick, and the berry bowl. The strawberry cheesecake crepe was better than F&WF.

The strawberry shake and fried Twinkie were ok, but not great.

Here are some pictures. I’ll add the shake and crepe soon.

I am on record as being very cynical about the park’s bacon on a stick offerings. This one was the best I have tried. It was thick and tasted great.

Here is an official video of the projection mapping show from the creators. It has watermarks, but it is very clear and has the actual audio rather than a live recording.

How crowded was that courtyard, during the show? I keep thinking it would be difficult to get a good view.

Also, did the park publicize the times anywhere? I can't find them on-line. Were they on the maps?

I couldn't find a single sign or time posted anywhere inside the park (even around and on the wilkommenhaus). I even asked the person selling glow things in front of the funnel cakes what times the show would be displayed and she had no idea there was a show there.

Here is an article about the Wilkommenhaus show. It seems like they already had the fountain lady out of the way when they started taking photogrammetry surveys with drones. The photogrammetry method used has centimeters accuracy in creating a photorealistic model. The article also says that a behind the scenes video is on its way.
Projection Mapping Show Article

I agree with Thomas about HOS and CT overlays, but I guess the statue will have to be put away for those events as well. There is no way to project through her. They put a lot of thought into the setup, and I don't know if they think they can find a way to facilitate her as well. Then again, she would be blocking the show even if they did.

When I was there on Saturday I didn't see anything about when the show times were. I happened to catch it at 8:30 but seeing that it was only dusk it was hard to see the projections clearly. So if I had to guess I'd say they have it every half hour on the 12 and 6. Attached is a picture of the Wilkommenhaus during the day and one of the array of projectors used.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet- The park has different pop soundtracks in each country. Here is the playlist that I have collected so far.

Germany:
Wohin Willst Du (feat. LEA)
Atemlos Durch Die Nacht by Helene Fischer
Millionen Farben (feat. Voyce) [Extended Mix]

New France:
Carry Me Home (feat. Jake Reese)

Ireland
Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran

Scotland (?)
All Will Be by Ships

I don't care much one way or another for most of that music, but I think "Galway Girl" is catchy.

Admins: I think there should be a thread just for the Wilkommenhaus show. I believe there is enough to constitute a separate thread.

I know a lot of people did not like illuminights, but it had way better fireworks, as did the Star Spangled Nights.
The display last night was lackluster and extremely short. No synchronization with the music. It hardly seems worth the effort.

Last year, a higher-up in Entertainment told me that the soundtrack was compiled after the fireworks were choreographed. That may have just been for the 4th of July fireworks, but it would explain a lot about their lackluster product in recent years.

The Illuminights fireworks were a masterpiece. Aside from pyro synchronization, each village also had lighting that corresponded with the show. Those fireworks were magical and exciting, but any fireworks shows since Star Spangled Nights feel like a waste of time to me.
