As long as they don't torture Cookie Monster with vegetables and fruits. m I have heard this is a thing, and someone needs to put a stop to it. He is a COOKIE monster. The operative word being COOKIE. You may have noticed he does not have teeth with are needed to grind fibrous fruits and vegetables. Further I have it on good authority that those sorts of things are often very difficult for him to digest. Cookies are, by nature crumbly and thus easy on his delicate system.

IF WE DO NOT STAND UP FOR COOKIE WHO WILL??? STOP THE ABUSE!!!

Anyone heard about no strollers in forest of fun?

Haven't heard about a no stroller policy but there is a small area to the right once you go in that is just before Bert & Ernie's Loch Adventure where they have guests leave strollers if the parents wanna take their kids to the water playground at Elmo's Castle.

I wouldn't be surprised if this policy is new since the pathways are small in that area and can get easily congested with foot traffic.

I was there yesterday and there a ton of strollers in FOF. I also was there for sesame street character weekends, it was held in an employee area behind oscar's whirly worms. There were a few tents set up with coloring tables, a storytime area and a dance party area. There was also stroller parking in the makeshift area. The activities occurred at set times throughout the day and you were given a schedule of the events when entering the area. I also loved the fact they opened up the old walkway between England and FOF. It was so great to leave the globe's sesame street show and go straight up the walkway and get on the skyride.

I also got to meet Murray for the first time this weekend and you could say things went pretty well. LOL

I couldn't agree with what has been said before. My son loves that area but its a poor design, not enough room for stroller parking, to crowded, lack of shade, characters confined to one corner and HOT!

I have only been in the area one or two times. Notably Sunday to see what the expansion was all about. (the peeping characters were creepy). I have always objected to the distinct lack of Cookie. It was not particularly hot Sunday, so that was not an issue, but I can completely see how it would be on a more typical Spring/ Summer day.

I would think that an expansion of the area would alleviate many of these issues or at least could.

I have never felt hotter at BGW than on one sweltering June day a handful of years ago in the FoF area.

The kids were younger, they loved that area, and at the time there was just so little shade there.  Now there are a few additional screens in the air, but at that time I was literally standing in the shadow of a light post just to keep a 6-inch vertical stripe of my body incrementally cooler.  Brutal.

This has been said before, but I just don't understand how you build an area like that and call it a "Forest" of any kind.  (Yes I do.  Budget.)

I feel your pain.

The most miserably hot day I've ever had at the park was in FoF the year it opened and I spent 4 hours chasing toddlers around in 100°-plus Heat Index. Of course most of that was spent in Elmo's Castle playing in the water.

I know they were limited on space in that location but I feel they could've made the area with a better layout with wider pathways.

Sesame fought BGW over the design. BGW wanted more actual trees and an actual forest. Sesame wanted a more cardboard cutout design. Guess who won.

Budget wasn't the issue.

Ah, so Sesame Street goes the DC Comics route in terms of Intellectual Property management. Absolute control, or nothing.

My understanding was it wasn't Sesame Workshop that fought against the trees. From what I was told, it was a feud between Larry Giles and John Reilly. Reilly wanted lots of trees and lots of themeing and Larry was "budget, budget, budget." The story I was told was that while John was out of town, Larry had work crews clearcut the area and went over John's head to BEC and had the themeing cut down significantly.

I don't think Sesame Workshop wants as much control as you think if you look at the Tampa version which was a recycle of the existing Land of the Dragons.

But who knows which version of the story is the truth.

This is my understanding as well. But I wasn't there either, so who knows...
