RE: Zachary's Reimagining of Italy: Pompeii Hamlet & Apollo Mini-Hamlet

AT LEAST 3 e-tickets a decade has seemed fairly standard since Alpen opened.

RE: Zachary's Reimagining of Italy: Pompeii Hamlet & Apollo Mini-Hamlet

I really, really like this entire concept. I think Apollo's does need a sort-of shrine because it is arguably the park's best attraction and guests immediately see it from the parking lot, so the instant thought is, I want to go ride THAT! With its own hamlet it would be very easy to find.

A good example of this is Kingda Ka and the Golden Kingdom at Six Flags Great Adventure. Though a mediocre ride, Kingda Ka is obviously the centerpiece and eye-popping giant of Great Adventure's skyline. It has an entire area dedicated to it because it is the main attraction. This is what I see AC becoming; a main attraction.

I'm trying to think of some good ideas for Greece. Maybe you could have a Gyro spin or something like that to represent Hephaestus's hammer or something. I'd really like to think of some rides for Greece.

Oh and I don't know if any of you realized this but guess what attraction we can keep if it's a combination of Spain and Turkey. Turkish Delight! I really hope you guys noticed that...

One question though: Doesn't the placement of Greece in 2023 affect the large animal habitats that you can see from the train? Would those have to be relocated?

What happened to all of your concern about the horse stables? ;)

RE: Zachary's Reimagining of Italy: Pompeii Hamlet & Apollo Mini-Hamlet

Guilty. :p Though it will take a ton of infrastructure work, I'd hope that by 2022 the stables would be moved out across the Rhine past Apollo's turnaround.

Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the... I mean, CHECK THIS OUT!!

THIS!
I love the silhouette of this coaster along with a few others as I drive by the park. I have taken many pictures of this skyline trying to get that perfect shot.

Thanks :) I really would like to finish the full concept (as shown on this map) eventually, but I don't have the time to do so right now. Eventually though. I have an Aquitaine renovation concept I did with Shane and Alpenghost that I have yet to share as well...

See, I love the idea, and I'd live to see it happen, but that is basically the last surviving somewhat forest within the park. I also think it would ruin the peace and mystery or loch ness. If they could do this somewhere else, that would be awesome. Now that I think about it, the hamlet itself isn't bad, it's the woodie that would ruin the peace of the somewhat forest. Just my opinion.

Why not a false woodie? Not as much noise as a woodie, plus better durability and smoother ride.

I'd love a hybrid. Traditional all-wood coasters are cheaper though- often by a large margin.

However,a false woodie provides more thrilling pieces, such as loops and barrel rolls, etc. Not to mention any and all noise complaints from kingsmill would be eliminated.(Referring to a ride in ireland/england).Plus it would add variety! We have a dive coaster,a one of a kind interlocking loop coaster,a launching coaster, arguably the best g-force giant, and an awesome suspended coaster. All steel. Why not invest in something different. The way Busch keeps the land natural, would make for and awesome ground hugging woodie. Not to mention,if we really wanted to,we could have the coaster dive towards the river, adding another coaster to the rhine view. Not only would this visibly look cool, but could reference how the people of pompeii fled to the harbor to escape the wrath of vesuvius.Add some roman ruins in that alcove ,and you can maintain the beauty of the rhine ,and have arguably the best themed outdoor coaster ever. And,despite having to clear trees, once the ride is built, plant more trees in there, and build back the wooded area.

^Well, thats partially because its build off the ground, and its avshow building. With a outdoor coaster,it wouldnt be as obvious and more aesthetically pleasing. Also, planting vegetation around ruins would look awesome.

Honestly, I've come to the realization that almost all the coasters at BGW are mediocre. Verbolten and Alpen Stand out among the crowd. Griffon is a one trick pony. The GP doesn't seem to appreciate arrow loopers like they used to... Apollo is average at best, Especially compared to some of the Hyper's that opened up the following year after it's debut.

Also, I must say as enthusiastic as I can be about woodies, I doubt we will ever see one in BGW UNLESS it was one of the crazy-assed RMC Iron horse ones. A traditional woodie does not receive the attention they used to. In order to be marketable, they have to be completely insane. I can imagine a new standard woodie would receive about the same reception as verbolten, if not less no matter how much marketing was put into play.

Well a ravine may be a problem for the hamlet part of the concept but it poses no issue for the coaster part. Also, lets not forget the terraforming the park did with Verbolten. They're clearly not afraid of moving around large piles of dirt.

I know this may be a little off topic. However, My great Uncle helped build Busch Gardens, and his job was to move dirt from the man-made river to other areas of the park, I'm sure we can move around a little dirt. It's no need freaking out over.;)

I don't know if I did this right because I just joined, but I've been meaning to ask this for a long time-how deep is the "river"?
