Certainly sounds interesting. I'm not sure that it would matter, but maybe try to place the location of the test balloon (ride peak) on this new site plan? It'll give us amateur coaster designers something to go on. :)

@kingadam suggested this to me privately but, honestly, I'm attempting to avoid pinpointing the location of the height waiver. The papers filed with the county are very vague regarding the exact location of the highest point and, while the FAA permit offers coordinates, I don't know how accurate those really are either. ?

I think it'd be cool just to see even if it isn't that accurate. It's almost for sure that what we have will change slightly anyway. Maybe as long as you make it clear that the coordinates are very MAYBE and take it with a grain of salt?

Just realized I'm trying to convince you to do more work. All I'm saying is if those coordinates aren't exact, you guys are the last I would blame for feeding us inaccurate imagery. I'm just glad you guys are able to put this forward and I really appreciate the work you guys put in.

Thinking over manufacturers, I really can't see anyone besides B&M doing this one. Not only has their facility been pumping out track like crazy recently with little to no announcements, but I doubt BG would have Intamin put in another potential giga when you got world class intimidator an hour away. I also don't see Mack being a possibility either cause they're building a new coaster at Carowinds for next year. For me though, the area doesn't seem at all like space for a giga. Call me crazy but I wouldn't be surprised if a wing or flying coaster gets put there. That dive over the river would be incredible...

Danger, chances of either those are settled at about 0%. The most logical manufacturer would be Intamin, with Mack in second. The similarities between the plans and I305 in regards to the turns is too similar. I think we have I305’s older brother coming our way. Just speculation though. ;)

I doubt they will go Intamin. They have no need. They have such good relations with B&M and I doubt they would bet all their cards on a manufacturer they haven't worked with for something this big. B&M gets my vote. Second, Mack.

You know, a bigger skyrush clone would be pretty sick. My whole worry with this coaster is it being too similar to Intimidator, but the two outside seats and lapbar restraints would be pretty unique if it is in fact a giga.

B&M would never attempt turns that tight. They have good relations because they’re good at what they do. This is an Intamin job no doubt. Intamins have been boosting attendance by large amounts “recently”, and if they pull this off which I think they very much could, we could have a good park manufacturer relationship. On top of that, B&M doesn’t currently hold a contract with SWPE like Intamin does. I’m putting all of my chips into Intamin. And what Zach said. The shaping of the turns, as vague as they are, look extremely similar to currently standing Intamin coasters.

So when can we expect the park to open the new coaster? I thought that these plans were definitely on hold and may never come to life?

The most relieving part of this whole report is that we now know that Project Madrid is indeed a roller coaster. If it is indeed an Intamin, I am hoping for something along the lines of Hyperion in Energylandia.

Please no. Everyone says that coaster is just alright. We should want either a B&M giga, an LSM launch like Taron, a T-Rex, or another interesting option, a Vekoma like Lech.

As for Project Madrid being put on hold, I have heard from my sources that work with James City County that that is indeed the case and that the project has been put on hold for the time being.
So is that no longer the case with the recent news about the coaster footers on the plans? Just to make clear what's going on....

Will the entrance be from an existing hamlet? If so will it be Festa or San Marco? I'm guessing San Marco. Any chance this could still be part of a new hamlet? I would still much prefer this being the centerpiece of a new hamlet!
