WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 21, 2017) – Busch Gardens® Williamsburg, the world’s most beautiful amusement park, has eclipsed a milestone.

After 42 years of providing park-goers with experiences that matter through thrilling rides, shows and attractions, the park surprised its 100 millionth guest, Reggie Henderson, Friday with a treasure trove of giveaways.

“Busch Gardens boasts a rich history,” said President David Cromwell. “This is truly a significant milestone for our park. This occasion marks an exciting time for our honored guests as well as our team members.”

The prize package includes:
•Admission to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA® for 5 years
•Invitation to VR 2018 Opening Day to be among the first-to-ride
•Summer Dining Plan
•Ultimate Thrills Quick Queues
•Elite VIP Tour
•Reserved Seating for all remaining 2017 concerts
•Annual Photo Key for the family
•Huge gift basket filled with park merchandise

“I was just back for a family vacation and decided to come to Busch Gardens,” said Henderson, a Henderson, North Carolina, native. “The last time I was here, I was in the seventh grade, which was in 1977. It was amazing and quite an honor.”

Busch Gardens Williamsburg opened on May 10, 1975. Back then, it was called, “The Old Country.” Former Gov. Mills E. Godwin, Jr. and television personality Ed McMahon were among the dignitaries on hand as more than 6,000 guests attended the park’s officially opening.

Today, it’s an action-packed European-themed adventure park with more than 50 thrilling rides, shows and attractions. The park is home to nine landscaped villages inspired by six countries for guests to explore.

RE: Prize for One Millionth Guest

I feel honored when there's no one in the queue for Griffon and they let me ride again. So take that, Mr. Henderson.

RE: Prize for One Millionth Guest

You are right. I was rushed, and just skimmed the article. Fixing it now.

They were very happy and thankful for the award, that was great. I'm happy BGW was prepared and did something for the family.

But, the guy hasn't visited since he was a kid (40 years ago)? Five year season pass for each of the family may go unused?
I'll look at the positive - at three hours away, maybe the new tradition will be for all of them to visit, and make a long-standing family tradition that outlives the five years of free admission. :)

That's admirable, whanna. Personally I'm going to be bitter that I have a season pass and go several times each year and then here comes Mr. Stupidpants Henderface to bag this swag. Pfffft. Whatever. Who *needs* your gift basket...
