It's almost as if they know not all families have strollers to leave their belongings on while they ride the ride. And they pay enough as it is, plus they're going for a seamless experience, that they allow items on rides.

Also PK, I agree about Soarin. It sucks. It's wayyyyyyyyyt over hyped. (Although I really hate it because that screen makes me sick.)
 
So I did the Marceline to Magic tour mainly for the HM info and it was pretty great. I honestly wasn't too interested in the life of Walt Disney, but the details and history of the rides and parks which tied into his history and philosophy was well worth the $50. We even got a private screening of Carousel of Progress where the guide talked through the show which was way more interesting than the show by itself.

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto was great. I kind of wish that Jungle Cruise used more modern effects. Unfortunately my potstickers were cold, but the Krakatoa was great. They also give you a new boxed mug instead of the one that you are served which is great for traveling.

Just getting to see the ballroom scene was worth the cost of the tour! Keys thought is still the best for the cost. The seeds tour is great too.
 
Was in a shitty mood yesterday (cheerleaders and other frustrating issues) so there were no updates from DAK. I've talked about it before so I'll skip to the highlights.

I wanted to rope drop FoP because I wanted to see the queue, but since I rope dropped it, we skipped the lab part of the queue. The line never dropped below 2 hours so I gave up. Which is frustrating because I won't be able to go back when I intended because of storms tomorrow.

Tough to be a Bug was better than I had been led to believe by the staff here. Hopper is incredibly impressive and the various seat effects were also great. I kind of wish they leaned more into why insects are important a bit more.

A lot of the Discovery Island trails were closed, but what was open was really cool. Some cool and unique animals in there. This applies to the Africa and Asia trails as well.

I hadn't done Killamanjaro before and that was great as well. Because of the storms, I won't be able to do it at night I had wanted.

Dinner was Yak and Yeti again, which I don't regret. Rivers of Light is a great show that I'm going to have to get the music for.

Not only is Pandora great at night, but it also looks pretty in the rain. I love rainforests (My favorite terrestrial ecosystem) so that was pretty great.

I think DAK is my favorite out of all parks. It doesn't have the best rides, but honestly the park features so many things that I I'm into.

Green is the less intense side right ? (I always get the colors mixed)

It's bullshit what they did. The whole point of the ride is to go to Mars, and then they took it out for the less intense ride. I'm still really mad, because I can't do the intense side without getting super sick. Now I can't go to mars, Disney. ):< Thanks for nothing.
 
As someone who can do both, I like having two different storylines. That said, I understand the frustration with not being able to do the Mars version.
 
So doing 1.5 days at Epcot, I have some mixes feelings. It's a great park to explore, but if you're not a huge fan of Soarin or Test Track, your choice for a forceful ride is Mission Space ATM. Things like Imagination and Living with the Land are great, but they don't make a well rounded park.

That being said, the park's strength is something it excels at. I had a bunch of great food and had a good time just exploring the World Showcase. I totally want to to to come again during the other events as well. There were so many prints I wanted to pick up that I couldn't and great food that excited me about the other events.

And with that, I'm all done with the parks themselves. Tomorrow I'll just be chilling all day so I'll try to sum up my thoughts on my overall experience.

Yes, the FOP queue skipping first thing on the morning really annoys me.....We rode the ride a dozen or so times before Pandora opened and basically had full run of the queue with hardly anyone else there. We spent hours exploring the lab and all the details of the whole queue but have not once been through the lab since. If you go in the morning you bypass it and then if you use FP+ you miss it as well.

I very much always felt the same way about Epcot.

The fact that Word Showcase was supposed to get its own version of Matterhorn, along with other pavilions, is why IMO it lacks. People bemoan the possibility of Epcot becoming IPcot with the Future World update. But with the way companies no longer need the pavilions to showcase what's next; I think IP's are the future of the park. It's a shame that the Marvel deal with Universal exists because Future World is a PERFECT place for an all Avengers land at WDW.
 
I honestly think that Future World will be fine with Guardians (and a proper Figment ride). World Showcase will need rides still after Ratatouille though. Hopefully D23 will bring some announcements.

Fare enough take. I'd prefer World Showcase to not dive into a bunch of rides, rather keep the focus on the countries. If they went "Universal SCREENZZOMGSOWONDERFUL!" on World Showcase, I actually wouldn't hate it because they could have some great factual rides with that.
 
I guess I'm thinking about revisit potential. Epcot is great, but since time is somewhat a premium at WDW, I can't justify more than day at Epcot with the current ride lineup. Once you've gone through the WS once, the exhibits and whatnot have limited revisit value. There's always the food there, but you can only fit so many meals in one day. I could easily knock out FW rides in a few hours, lunch in WS, and the rest of the time at a festival or finding a sweet spot to sit in the SEAS pavilion.
