Does anyone know why the animal enclosers between Ireland and France are no longer there? I noticed the enclosers were gone and sod was laid down but we were unsure why they were gone.

The Zoology Departments across the chain have been drastically cut. We are setting up an interview with them for hopefully next week. So, we should have more information for everyone then.

So since the stream didn't quite work today, I'll give a brief rundown. These are based off a series of quickly paced messages to the admin, so apologies if I'm missing any details.

-InvadR opening date.
-Concerts
-New F&W booths (India, Island Freeze Drinks, and Mediterranean)
-F&W now open six weekends
-Fry place hyped up a lot.
-Summer Nights, Two shows and exclusive food
-Concert Lineup
-Talking about the two new shows, nothing that wasn't revealed with the interview that was done recently.
-Talking about existing shows
-Bier Fest Returning
-HoS, "Something which the park has never done before", so I'm going to assume be scary. *micdrop.gif*
-Daytime Sesame Street themed Halloween event for kids. With hope, parents will bring infants and toddlers to this instead of the mazes (One can dream). Lots of emphasis on "for the kids" with the phrase being repeated multiple times.
-CT was mentioned, but no new info.
-WCUSA mentioned, but no new info.

So the park was planning this huge reveal for 2018. All the seats had parts of a giant stadium sign that we were supposed to hold up. They also had eye holes to look through. When held up, we were supposed to see that the sign announced "VR 2018". It didn't work, so the park wasted a lot of money on printing the things out. They talked about it and played the video that's on youtube. I think that's everything.

Fantastic day at the park!  The early rain/overcast skies kept the crowds at bay.  We arrived about 1 pm and the weather was great -- brisk but sunny.  Opened our season with a ride on Griffon, then got Smokehouse food and sat at a table on the side near Invadr, hoping to hear the little presentation -- but unfortunately we really couldn't hear much though from where we were seated.  Entrance to the coaster is well themed; ride is scheduled to open April 7.

Best views of Invadr's track were from the train going from Festa Italia to New France, just before you pull into the New France train station (the coaster is right there, of course).

Staff were friendly and upbeat throughout -- just a great day.  Starting with last year and now through today, the park (for us) is really getting its mojo back.  Flowers in the beds and planters looking pretty good; park was clean and facilities like restrooms were well maintained throughout the day (of course the crowd was light, but still, I didn't go in a bathroom all day that wasn't being cleaned right then).  Staff weren't just pleasant when approached but went out of their way to reach out and offer assistance/greetings/friendly banter.

Rides were of course walk ons and the only things not running were Le Scoot and Roman Rapids.  A few shows, like the animal shows, were on the schedule, but we didn't try to see anything.  Of course the full show schedule is not up and running yet.

Hope this augurs well for a good season.  Sorry to hear about the dining debacle Zachary and company experienced at La Cucina.  Our Smokehouse meal was up to par; the gelato we had in Italy was excellent; and we enjoyed our wine from the German Gifts tasting counter.

So glad the park's season is getting underway!  :)

PS:  maybe this link will work about the VR -- this was the new announcement, right, or was it something else??:

We had a very good preview day visit yesterday. To start, We were photo id'd at the parking booth. Then we got behind a really slow park maintenance vehicle on its way to the front of the park. We just followed it at the fork in the road because the traffic lady dropped her wand. We ended up being the only vehicle in preferred parking without a tag. Bathrooms were clean. The wife and daughter started with Grovers coaster, but I saved my first ride of the year for alpengeist. It was fast, smooth, and cold. I tossed two of three footballs through a hole to win a medium sized poop emoji for the little gal. Next was bumper cars and then lunch at marketplace. Only one cashier line was open, but sooner than I could complain, a second one opened up. Wife had the orange chicken with white rice, I had Mongolian chicken with noodles. Both were pretty good. (By the way, those fancy bathroom spouts at the marketplace really do suck) we then rode all of the flats in the garden and festa. Wife and I rode Apollo while our daughter watched, and then we hopped on the train to get a look at Invadr. It was really neat riding right through the coaster! We all agreed that it looks really fun and should have good re-ridability. A visit to the candy shop and we were outta there. Out visit was about four hours and it was really nice being in the park after the winter months. TaTa
