I have WCUSA park maps for 2001, 2002, and 2003. Here they are. Anyone have any others?

Well, this isn't too far in the past, but here's the 2009 map (for the record).

Yeah, I actually worked at WCUSA about 9 years ago. Back when the main store next to the Grill was called WC Duds. I haven't been back to the park in about 8 years.

I haven't been there in a while, and had no idea that they took out Atomic Breakers. I loved that ride! I think I just lost respect for them to...

I mean, really, compared to other Water Parks, that might have been their only topping ride.

i go but only for the price. 30 bucks to add it to your pass ain't bad. And anything is fun with the right crowd. I do think they kind of neglect it tho, from a r&d perspective.

I can go a couple of seasons with one or no visits to WC, then for whatever reason suddenly want to go a bunch in one year. This year it's already been so brutally hot we've been to WC as much as we've been to BGW, which is highly unusual for us. We went to WC's opening day for the first time this year, even though it was drizzly and warm rather than hot, but we had a great day with minimal lines and loved it. It's funny, too, how my thoughts on the rides change from season to season. Used to think Rampage was a snoozer but am really enjoying it this year. Used to love Nitro Racer, this year not so much. But I always like Big Daddy Falls, Aquazoid, Jet Scream, and others.

Re: ATOMIC BREAKERS discussed earlier, was that the ride where you were in a single-person tube and would go down one slide into a quiet pool (I think they called it a "lagoon"), then floated through that to another slide, then another pool and so on? If that's it, didn't the ride end up requiring staff to actually pull the riders to the next slide so they didn't bottleneck in the "lagoons?" Whenever I rode that I figured the ride must not have worked according to plan to require manual assistance like that. But I hate that it's gone because it was enjoyable and frankly WCUSA just doesn't have all that many rides total.

Or was Atomic Breakers something else entirely? TIA!

That's the one, and that is why I loved it. Your ride could be almost as long or as short as you wanted. You were always shoving other tubes out of the way, trying to paddle yourself to the next slide, pushing yourself along walls, spinning to go down slides backwards, etc.

Best water ride I've ever been on.

Wikipedia says that they are gone as well. :-/ Sounds like Nessie isn't the only sea monster to loose her home...

^Re: Aquazoid, so far I've been twice this year and there's at least been a quick stretch of flashing lights overhead and that one place with fog in the tunnel. Don't know what else should be there but they at least have those things this season.

That's true, I noticed that too. It's not like the rides gotten boring from that though. Unfortunately, Darkastle is another ride that lost all of it's special effects. Now, Darkastle is pretty dull without them. It's a dark ride after all, and special effects can make it or break it.

Too true about Darkastle losing so many effects that it dampens the ride experience . (Although I admit I still love it, but I do notice the difference from how it used to be.)

i haven't lost my respect for WC they did open 3 new slides were the lazy river is and i always have fun there and also the new show there is cool, my fav ride there would have to be hubba hubba highway, floatin around starin at the smexy life guards oh yeah;) jk jk sorta but yeah its a good place to cool off

well if you guys ever make it to Ocean Breeze in Virginia Beach they have a slide called Jungle Falls and it sounds EXACTLY like what you were saying Atomic Breakers was... It is my favorite ride at OB
