What happens when your rep goes negative? Does the forum go into the dark side mode? Has anyone ever had negative rep?

I can say that we "lost" quite a few members, good and/or bad because of things like that. If I understand it correctly, the current system gives one Rep point after a certain number. It is my belief that the feeling of appreciation is one of the most important things to a thriving community.

Often times, people won't bother to give Rep points. It's not even one of the first things to go through my mind. I just love the "thanks" button, because it lets me know how to better contribute to the community. E.g., I had no idea that people would appreciate a transcribed script of Corkscrew Hill, until I saw the positive reception.

Rep points at this stage are whatever to me, cause I have over 300 posts but only one rep point, so I now have the attitude of as long as I don't go into the negative I could care less.
