Although I do agree with you, I don’t think their gonna tear out a scare zone implemented, what, last year or two years ago? Wendigo woods would’ve made for a really fun house though.
The pirates house was in for two years, Axe Alley just had it's second year I believe. I personally see it as easier to replace a scare zone.

Wendigo Woods itself only lasted two seasons (sadly).

Short of bringing Wendigo Woods back (or putting something else in the park), one theme I'd like to see attempted in New France is Nordic trolls. Not only do they tie to InvadR's folklore, but they're some creepy little dudes and I could see the park making that theme pretty eerie.

Wait really? I feel like I remember it being there for longer. I don't go to HoS every year but I remember going through Wendigo two different seasons. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

no matter how well you put together a house, the fact that it is themed around something not scary to begin with makes it unable to have any success.

They need a haunted house that's cute.
(^ Azumanga Daioh reference)

Petition to bring back Wicked Woods. I really wish they would begin theming their Haunted Houses to scary historical/folk stories that are distinctly European. I really think that is what Howl-O-Scream is lacking.

^This. I used to be in the same camp of wanting a Euro-centric HOS, and I loved how the park spent a good decade or more (usually) tying its haunts to the park's existing theme. But the problem is exactly that- after years of exhausting the theme, you eventually run out of existing source material.

While they did exhaust the material, I feel that they have been away from it for a number of years they could start trying to return to some of that material. But then again if they aren't going to put the effort or money into the theme it would be a waste anyway.

I'd love to see a house themed around the terrors that can await in the black forest (wolves, other spooky stuff) back in the old DF queue. Kinda like Hunted, but broader maybe.

That sounds neat!

On second thought... maybe not.
I was more talking along what they have always done to make the Black Forest seem scarier than it is. Even if they are making up their own stories that they hold continuous through the park and are not necessarily accurate to real life. All I care about is an effort towards park-continuous stories they create, so not everything is just a lone attraction. It'd be nice to have some things intertwine. Like a Ludwig themed house replacing Frostbite, a Verbolten show building - esque house in the DF queue. Stuff like how they used to put more effort in relating the house to the theme of the area; whether that is accurate to real life or accurate to their theming interpretation.

What about theming some parts to the spirit, some to the wolves and some to the "fairies".

Yeah that'd be kinda cool. A good way to have a multi-roomed house but still achieve an overall theme they can make sense of and tell a story about. It'd be cool if they even moved the broken down car from verbolten into the house, and make the story that you were "on a tour (riding verbolten)" and the tour crashed and you have to walk your way out.

As much as I love Ripper Row and Vampire Point (some years much more than others) I am wondering if or when we will see these two get phases out?

I have always loved the decor in VP especially when the Blood Banquet was still a thing, but the past few years have been rough for actors/experience. Though I will say, going on a Thursday or Sunday actually seems to be better for staffing.

RR is just the perfect Terror-tory in my opinion but I worry that it has become stale. Maybe introduce new characters like a Penny Dreadful type experience. Maybe Germany should be about Frankenstein. Maybe the whole park needs a refresh. I will likely enjoy it to some degree no matter what so not sure why I care so much.
