Sigh... So how bout that Gloria show ey. You know, the show that we're discussing about that guy that was tortured for 3 days and murdered by the Romans.David said:Joe said:No... That's what American commercialism has made the holiday. The TRUE meaning of Christmas is what's been forgotten.
I prefer the American Commercialism way then. It's more entertaining. And at least people dont selective follow the rules, they follow the lowest prices!

Joe said:Having just seen this show for the first time in years, I have to profess my love for this show. It is exceptionally well done. The vocals are simply fantastic, especially with Damon's opening song. I can understand that non-Christian visitors may not like the show as much, but as a religious person I find this show incredibly moving. I think the idea of having a live orchestra playing along a musical version of the nativity story is not only brilliant but wonderfully carried through. I honestly think Gloria is the best telling of the nativity story through show that I have ever seen. For me, it is incredibly moving and touching and BGW really hit the mark. Best show at Christmas Town in my opinion, beating Scrooge No More by just a little bit.
Really my only criticism is the part that looks like a PowerPoint presentation of kids opening presents on Christmas. I really wish that part could be changed or removed altogether. Oh, and it's too bad I didn't get to see Gabe in the show.
One more thing: My favorite part of the show was the We Three Kings song. I thought the trio harmonization was the best it has ever been, compared to past years.
That's enough positive-gushing. Now back to your regularly scheduled complaining.
Zachary said:Hey Damon! It's slightly off-topic, but I just want to quickly say that I honestly consider you to easily be one of the best male vocalists the park has had the fortune to employee over the last five to ten years. Wherever you're heading next, I wish you the best of luck, but we will certainly miss you at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Lots of mix feels about this idea. I guess that my I would in general agree with you but looking at the parks last few shows I have a fear that we might have lost the talent and vision needed to find a replacement of the same caliber. Personally I would much rather see Deck the Halls go first and see what the can do there before touching Gloria. The otherr thing is Twas ends it contract next year may need to be on the look out for something to fill that void.Gloria is one of my favorite shows, but I think it's time for something new. I can see how the park might be afraid to replace this show, like Celtic Fyre. Whatever replaces it, I hope it also has a live orchestra and the Christmas story.
I hope the park has what it takes to get it right the first time when they do decide it's time for a new show. Gloria 2.0 was probably the only revamp in the park's history to succeed after the first one failed slightly. I am amazed by how far the show has come since its first season. Still, I think I am finally prepared to say "farewell" to it as long as they have a good replacement.
