No... That's what American commercialism has made the holiday. The TRUE meaning of Christmas is what's been forgotten.

I prefer the American Commercialism way then. It's more entertaining. And at least people dont selective follow the rules, they follow the lowest prices!

Sigh... So how bout that Gloria show ey. You know, the show that we're discussing about that guy that was tortured for 3 days and murdered by the Romans.

Wow, you captured the perfect image of $12 days at CT. Isn't it touching?

Having just seen this show for the first time in years, I have to profess my love for this show. It is exceptionally well done. The vocals are simply fantastic, especially with Damon's opening song. I can understand that non-Christian visitors may not like the show as much, but as a religious person I find this show incredibly moving. I think the idea of having a live orchestra playing along a musical version of the nativity story is not only brilliant but wonderfully carried through. I honestly think Gloria is the best telling of the nativity story through show that I have ever seen. For me, it is incredibly moving and touching and BGW really hit the mark. Best show at Christmas Town in my opinion, beating Scrooge No More by just a little bit.

Really my only criticism is the part that looks like a PowerPoint presentation of kids opening presents on Christmas. I really wish that part could be changed or removed altogether. Oh, and it's too bad I didn't get to see Gabe in the show.

One more thing: My favorite part of the show was the We Three Kings song. I thought the trio harmonization was the best it has ever been, compared to past years.

That's enough positive-gushing. Now back to your regularly scheduled complaining. :p

Well I couldn't agree more with you! I saw 3 of the shows there this past Saturday. Scrooge No More, Deck The Halls, and Gloria! They were all good, but Gloria stuck out so much in a way that I can only explain as Glorious! It was beautiful! The other two show were entertaining, Gloria was very moving and touching! So my opinion is Gloria is the best show to have ever come to Busch Gardens!

Hey Y'all, Its Damon McToy, from Gloria 13 and 14! Just wanted to say I will not be back this winter for Gloria playing Gabriel, BUT my awesome friend Jamari, will be the role this year. So get out there and go support him, he is a amazing talent and you guys won't be disappointed! :)

Hey Damon! It's slightly off-topic, but I just want to quickly say that I honestly consider you to easily be one of the best male vocalists the park has had the fortune to employee over the last five to ten years. Wherever you're heading next, I wish you the best of luck, but we will certainly miss you at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. :)

Thank you so much Zachary, that means a lot.

I saw Gloria! for the first time the other day and my wife and I were absolutely blown away by the performance, particularly Jamari's. It appears that the cast has a great working relationship because everything just seemed to click. The music was just phenomenal and goosebump-inducing.

These photos were taken last Sunday. You can see that the rear view projection screen was visible when it wasn't supposed to be. I'm not sure how long it would have taken for the rear projector to turn off, but a technician was quick to close the proper curtain.

Gloria is one of my favorite shows, but I think it's time for something new. I can see how the park might be afraid to replace this show, like Celtic Fyre. Whatever replaces it, I hope it also has a live orchestra and the Christmas story.

I hope the park has what it takes to get it right the first time when they do decide it's time for a new show. Gloria 2.0 was probably the only revamp in the park's history to succeed after the first one failed slightly. I am amazed by how far the show has come since its first season. Still, I think I am finally prepared to say "farewell" to it as long as they have a good replacement.

Lots of mix feels about this idea. I guess that my I would in general agree with you but looking at the parks last few shows I have a fear that we might have lost the talent and vision needed to find a replacement of the same caliber. Personally I would much rather see Deck the Halls go first and see what the can do there before touching Gloria. The otherr thing is Twas ends it contract next year may need to be on the look out for something to fill that void.

^^This. I personally believe a show focused on the Christmas story is a must for the event, but Gloria as a production has grown tired. Its simple sets, basic projections, and soundtrack of mostly commonplace holiday songs have made its caliber seem eclipsed by newer, higher-caliber productions like Scrooge No More and 'Twas That Night.

My personal desires aside, I imagine the park, to some extent, also feels obligated to keep a Christian-oriented show in the event's lineup, at the very least to appease guests. With Gift of Harmony taking up new residence in Il Teatro and Das Festhaus too much of a large, communal dining venue, I feel like this forces the Abbeystone to house some sort of Christian show for the foreseeable future. However, I have no idea how the park can revamp a telling of the nativity story a third time to make it distinct enough from Gloria.
