Anyone have any feedback on the 4th of July crowds? Looking at going July 2nd-5th with at least one day in the water park.

most holidays have busch at very high crowd levels, especially during the weekends. I am not sure about water country but I'm sure the crowds will be very high during midday (12-5)

If you want to go on the 4th, and stay for fireworks a few things I've noticed:

-Get there early, park preferred. After the fireworks the tram line will be massive. You will need to wait several hours to get to your car or otherwise walk. By the time either of these happen, the line to get out of the parking lot will be super long. If you get preferred you can book it out of the park early.

-The bridges fill early, if you want a great spot to watch the fireworks, plan an hour or two waiting on the bridge to reserve your spot. The earlier the better. I haven't been for the 4th in a few years so it could be worse, I'm not sure.

-Barring the fact that pyro at Busch has been a bit...cavalier in recent years, they have some of the largest fireworks shows I've seen(including Disney, DC, and WBurg). If you're willing to put up with the crowd, the fireworks on the 4th are normally pretty good.

-Rides can often have very short waits during and immediately after the show. Granted the park will likely be at capacity, so perhaps I should say short(er).

I would be prepared for the park to potentially reach capacity. Keep in mind the park during Christmas Town capacity is a few thousand shorter, this means if you’re used to that a few thousand more of your best friends will be showing up. People will start camping out on the bridge connecting Oktoberfest to Italy about an hour and spots will dissapear fast due to the size of the bridge and the fact that the back half is reserved for walking. An alternative would be near the Rhine River Cruise as less people go down there and it still provides good views. France is very underrated with the silhouettes of the coasters from the fireworks leading to some unique visuals, the area also has solid audio and less crowds then other hamlets. The lines for rides won’t really get unbearablely long until later in the day closer to the fireworks.
Makes me pretty nostalgic talking about the fourth at the park. As a younger lad I have memories of parking in one of the lots with picnic tables, meeting up with neighbors to have a picnic, just enjoying the fireworks, and then dashing to the car moments after the finale.

There are great views of the fireworks from Ireland. They are framed nicely by the trees and the occasional silhouette of a sky bucket. Stand adjacent to the Annie's Café entrance.

I am going on July 22nd - 23rd. Will those days be crowded and that is on a Sunday and a Monday and how long wait Time for all of the roller coasters be.

Hello all. I’m looking to go up to BGW sometime next week. I understand it’s not an ideal week, with Independence Day and all, but I was wondering which day I should go. I can do any weekday besides Monday. I’d be fine buying fast passes, but if there was a day I didn’t need them that would be nice. Thanks!

My impression is that Thursday might be better than Tuesday, but I could be completely wrong about that. Looking at the event calendar, there are fireworks all week, except Monday. The new shows don’t start until 6 July, however.

Thanks. Does Quick Queue Unlimited Plus sell out days in advance?

I have never had a problem getting QQs and have even been able to buy them at the park. That said, I generally don't go on really busy days.

I'm going on Monday, I believe Monday will give a good look at how busy the entire week will be. Typically earlier in the week is lighter but with it being a holiday week who knows what's going to happen. I'll update y'all on my way home Monday evening.

I have a bad habit of going on busy days. I haven't been on a busy day since they introduced the unlimited plus, but back when it was normal quick queue and unlimited, the normal would sell out well before the unlimited since they are much cheaper. Most people don't wanna shell out the extra cash, you will be fine getting the plus.

Thanks to all for the advice. I’m going next Thursday, which is the day after the 4th. I think fireworks start at 9:30, but I’m planning on getting some rides in when everyone’s watching them. I’m debating about whether or not to get the preferred or vip reserved parking or the normal parking. I assume traffic will be pretty bad getting out of the park at 10:00. Is it worth leaving a bit earlier than 10:00, and is it worth paying extra for better parking?

Edit: Just saw sunchild’s post, still wondering about whether to go for preferred or vip, and if you should still leave before 10:00 if you have a preferred spot.

Preferred and VIP are the same lot, VIP just gets like the first few rows. Unless the opened the France lot back to preferred, but still VIP is unnecessary.

Leaving a good 30-45 minutes before close is smart since it could take a long time to leave, but the good thing is everyone is doing the same direction and Busch exits directly into the local interstate so it doesn't take too long

The other difference with VIP is that your spot is saved all day. Even when they turn cars away, you will still be able to park because you have VIP. Without VIP, there is a chance you'll be turned away later in the day especially if it gets crowded.

Note-France is always Preferred, when England isn't used for loads of buses, England is Preferred as well.
