Festhaus Fright Night replaced the original Fiends in Das Festhaus, and ran for two seasons in 2007-2008. It was replaced by FrankenRock in 2009.

"With the turn of a golden key, witness the unleashing of the fearsome foursome known as THE FRIGHTS –Banished centuries ago for their terrifying behavior and loud music, help our dancers as they try and save the Festhaus, before time runs out. "

I decided to search up some youtube videos to see if I could cobble together the whole show, for history purposes. The videos below may overlap some, but I tried not to include a video which had a song already in another video, unless it had another song with it. However, the show is still incomplete, there’s a chunk in the middle missing, and I only ever saw the show once in person so I honestly don’t remember what went in there. Also I believe these videos go back and forth between the 2007 and 2008 seasons. I don't believe there was any changes to the show between the two years.

This is where a chunk of the show is missing, I don’t know what exactly is missing besides the dancer change from cats to bats.

And if you don’t want to watch all these videos here’s a quick set list of what’s in the videos.

(Opening, none of which are sung by the cast)
  • Bayerischer Defiliermarsch (Bavarian Defile March) - Adolf Scherzer (Thanks @CastleOSullivan !!)
  • Music Box - Candyman OST
  • A Remix of the Halloween Theme
  • Rama Lama (Bang Bang) - Róisín Murphy
(Songs sung by the cast)
  • Anyway You Want It - Journey
  • Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats
  • What’s New Pussycat - Tom Jones
  • Come on Eileen - Dexy’s Midnight Runners
  • Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
  • Let’s Get Loud - Jennifer Lopez
Missing show clip
  • Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra
  • Relax - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  • Help - The Beatles
  • Get Back - The Beatles
  • Music Box - Candyman OST
  • (Finale) I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
Overall this is probably one of the most underrated shows Busch Gardens has ever done, and it could so easily be a terrible show, but it somehow works. This is the sort of show I kind of expect in the Festhaus at this point. And if Night Beats got replaced, well can we bring this show back Busch Gardens? You brought back Fiends and Starfright. This was just fun and entertaining.

There is some disagreement in the source material over whether the name of the show was "Festhaus Fright Night" or "Festhaus Frightnight." The 2008 Howl-O-Scream website listed it as one word while the in-park signage (see here) clearly shows it as two words. At least for now, siding with the in-park signage seems like the right call.

I mean... the webtsite was wrong about the name and the fact it says its golden key. In the video, it's definitely red, not to mention the narrator says "Red key". So I don't trust the website too much.

Classic BGW lmao

  • I’m not sure the song title, but it’s like normal Oktoberfest/Festhaus music (@CastleOSullivan do you possibly know the name?)
It is Bayerischer Defiliermarsch (Bavarian Defile March) by Adolf Scherzer. It was one of King Ludwig's favorite songs. It's funny because most of Oktoberfest's songs are German military marches and the rest are Austrian. This song was the perfect red herring because it was how you might expect an Oktoberfest show the start since it is Bavarian.
