I'm not sure that it is fair to compare the addition of an up charge game to the installation of a new, themed attraction. In fact so far it has been a noisy, disruptive eyesore, that blocks paths and distracts from area theming. It was particularly annoying at Polar Pathway, although I guess if it belongs anywhere Festa seems like a good fit.

Take a look back at Festa from the Daiy Press.

Some changes over in Festa:

The billboard structure that usually holds up the Dasher's Diner advertisement for CT seems to be staying around this year, holding up a 40th anniversary sign, I assume to advertise the 40th merch that will be held next door at the new Tempesto Shop.

In typical Festa Italia fashion of adding things that don't match their surroundings at all, the Killarney snack stand was moved beside Elephant Run this season, replacing the snack stand that used to be in this area. A menu hasn't been displayed yet, and I haven't been able to see what they were serving yet either.

The park's second Plinko game is taking shape in front of the Trade Wind. It seems that the Plinko board just needs to be added now.

The new Tempesto Shop and 40th Anniversary shop, or what used to be Pegasus Gifts(and still is according to the sign being displayed right now) was closed Saturday, still being worked on.

Honestly, other than the name, I enjoyed the shop quite a lot. I guess all the people complaining about the decor forgot what Pegasus gifts was like, and how un-themed and terrible the merch was in there. It does well for Tempesto and is definitely a step above what it used to be.

I actually liked the decor in the gift shop.  If nothing else it was all well built.  Further they seem to have attached bike wheels to ceiling fan motors.  When they operate that will look neat.
That's a cool idea, but I can't imagine the spokes of a bicycle wheel generating much wind.

I don't think the main idea of those was to produce wind, just for a thematic element. They never have any of the fans in the rest of the park going fast enough to generate a noticeable amount of wind anyway.

Well OF COURSE they could.

I have to say, the improved shop reduces the "Six Flags Over Busch" feeling. That reduction is, of course, countered by the existence of the Pasta Flat. But small steps for little people and all.

The Festa Italia Bridge becomes the BGW 40th bridge? Well it sure is decked out enough to be. They've added banners advertising the 40th on both sides of the bridge, where the normal banners usually go. And then on the light poles they've added colored flags themed to the colors of the coaster tree. Also, the large billboard which has already been pointed out, so yeah, I guess you could call the Festa Bridge the BGW 40th bridge this year. Here are some pictures of the banners and the flags:

And along with this the banners on Jumping Jupiter arcade have been replaced, which means that the green rounded bottom banners have been added to the front after a 2 season hiatus. And for all of those who haven't been following every move of the park since 2013, let's take a trip down quality control lane. In 2012, Holiday Hills debuted during Christmas Town, meaning Festa was completely overlayed for the winter season. With this a lot of signs/thematic elements, along with other things were removed for Christmas Town. Problem was, a lot of things weren't put back for the next main season, including nearly the whole area's signage, which included Jumping Jupiter Arcade, which was set up like this:

So long story short, the green banner was removed and was never returned, so "Arcade" was printed on the purple banner that still remained. I hope that they will put the lettering back on the green banner with the proper name.

Also, if you look in the background of that picture(I wasn't able to get a proper one), the Coca-Cola Market building roof was just recently given a paint job, now instead of it being Blue and White, it is just Blue.

Wow! Haven't posted in ages!
Although the Festa bridge is now the BGW 40th anniversary bridge and the signage has yet to make a comeback on Jumping Jupiter's arcade (and I won't even go to the lack of trees), thank goodness something exciting is going on within Festa by now!

Now if we can just get back to sprucing it up with its thematic elements (if any) to its former glory, that would be nice! But alas, I don't forsee it with their current trends.

Matthew, did you notice anything else left behind from Holiday Hills?

Many things were done to Festa to make way for holiday hills. As I mentioned, tons of signage went missing. This included the Festa Italia sign which was removed to make way for the Holiday Hills Bill Board and never returned. Turkish Delight's sign was removed to make way for Pepper Mint Twist's, and never returned. Trade Wind's sign was missing for a majority of 2013. Two trees were removed to make way for reindeer decorations. And other small decor. Banners on select buildings. I noticed the Elephants on Elephant Run were missing earlier this season, I don't know if they have returned yet. It just seems that CT decor which is only put up for a month and half seems to be put ahead of Festa's normal theming, which is on display for the rest of the year.
