RE: Christmas Town 2012 - The First Year

So can some please break down this event for me? I have read multiple posts on Facebook about nothing but the event being too crowded, lines too long, no lights on the train, etc. as well as not much to do at all. This does kind of upset me seeing that many people think this event ended up more as a failure, but I know that they are just the GP and have little insight on things. So can someone explain to me the details of CHristmas Town in Tampa?

I enjoyed it. Several loose ends at the event that need addressed to be Williamsburg level.. Several sellout nights. People in Tampa are not used to that park at capacity. Christmas town did it.

Williamsburg's first year was a little rough, too - I recall them running out of hot beverages, being unprepared for crowds, etc. - because it was their maiden voyage with the event. I've no doubt Tampa will, like Williamsburg, look at each coming year with the current year's strengths and weaknesses in mind, expanding accordingly.

Easy there, scooter, take a look at my previous posts in other threads that clearly say WBurg had growing pains as will Tampa. Even with the loose ends note i stated I enjoyed it. Obviously with sellouts it was successful.

Honestly, I think BGW planned to open up Italy and then Festa. Especially since they gave hints as to what was coming. For example, they left a sign introducing Italy to be added the next year, then they had the countdown to Christmas sign with the Nutcrackers blocking of the Festa bridge as an indication to Holiday Hills.

I don't see BGW expanding anymore into LoD or FoF, which they probably should. But in relation to BGT, I can see them expanding much more rather rapidly. Looking at their Christmas Town map, they have large pathways where it is nothing but pathway with no attractions, shops, or much of anything. Not sure how it is in reality but if its like how the Wild Reserve is at BGW, I'm sure you can see them do a few things there.

But in general, I do believe Tampa will definitely put on a better event next on the same level as Williamsburg if not, better.

You don't have to visit a place to notice growing trends. I am not ignorant to the outside world.

Furthermore, I believe I can make my own educated decision and opinion based of the feedback from many others. Remember, people don't just go to parks blindly, they usually and typically hear reviews from others. I do not fully trust reviews fro others. Emphasis on fully, however when 10 million people say the same thing, it tends to be true. I think it is very inconsiderate and judgmental that just because I have not visited a place you think I am an ignorant fool who knows absolutely nothing about said place and that you think you can push it in my face all the time. Well I am sorry I am not as perfect as you.

Growing trends? In other fan communities HoS 2012 seems to be favored toward BGW post week 2. Had BGW called their first weekend what Tampa does then it would be BGW every week. Try again. Look on SEVERAL other fan forums and that is very very clear. 2011 would be BGT as well as 2010 with 2009 being BGW. Getting out of the box of one site or the box of Va would open your eyes to that. Venture out a bit more, yes even on the internet! As someone who has been to both special events in the fall the past years as well as both CT events on their debut year as well as all four of BGW's I can fully concur with those majority of sites.

Sure sounds a bit blind... better yet biased as to where you have read it. Keep in mind that 99 of 100 blogs say ANYTHING SEAS offers is utter turd and Disney is the ONLY way to go. You are right, people do do research before they go. Biased articles like are seen with WDW is the only reason its slack off in attendance and guest spending is not worse. Let us not forget that far more sites refer to BGW as the superior BG annually in a no contest win than those who view BGT as the superior.

BGW and BGT combined did not crack 100 million attendance.

Don't be so thin skinned like another on here and you will get worked up about alot less. If anything in this thread is flat out ignorance then it is clearly the quoted below.

Keep in mind how many contributors stated that Tampa management has made several trips to BGW in order to put on their event. BGW has played a very large part in this event headed to Florida. Furthermore, having visited both BGW and BGT's CT on their debut years then I can say in full confidence that BGW hit the nail on the head its first year. Several less hiccups were at BGW than Tampa has experienced.

Party Rocker, this is a message board, don't let people get to you. Atlantis comes off a little harsh, but that's how some people are on the internet. And don't take this the wrong way but this will happen a lot, especially when you just keep posting stuff without anything to back it up.

My advice: At least reread what you write before you post and think how you would react to someone writing that. Or just post as much as you want without thinking and people will give you crap. :p
