Caribou Station Railroad Fire

Just got word from my step dad that there's another fire at Busch Gardens but he didn't know the details so I did a quick Twitter search and am seeing reports that the train is on fire. Some were saying they heard "explosions", but that could be an exaggeration. Anyone have any information?

I'm not suggesting the reports are wrong, but the last two times rides we're reported destroyed that was not the case. Maybe wait for real info befo5 spreading bad info (again)?

I can't fathom that the park will close. The early reports are almost certainly exaggerated.

That said, for anyone who is going to BGW today, PHOTOS! Anything there is to see, we want to see it.

It's probably in bad shape to the point where they won't bother fixing it, those smoke clouds were quite grand.

Glad to read that there are no serious injuries, according to the park.

If I recall correctly -- isn't Alpen Express considered the least capable of the three BGW engines when it comes to climbing grades like the one on the other side of Oktoberfest?

I hope any damage is light and easily repaired. Otherwise, maybe it's Six Million Dollar Man time: "We can rebuild him. We have the technology."

So I'm at the park now and can report that the entire New France section of the park is closed off to guests. I just walked from France towards New France and they have it roped off where you enter New France with a about 10 employees and security guards guarding the area and one guarding the alternate path on the other side of the monster trucks. I'm going around the other way now to see how far we can get on the other end.

EDIT: They have the path blocked off halfway through the Rhinefield section where all the little shops are. Can't even get to Alpengeist.

Yeah, my mom is super bummed about it being Alpen. She grew up in Roanoke, VA and that train used to be at the Lakeside Amusement Park in the neighboring town of Salem and remembers it from her childhood. Hopefully this isn't the end of the line for it.
