Although, I have my concerns with Alpen pulling more coaches than usual, I am glad that they are trying to get the trains back in service. I just hope that Alpen can handle the extra work for a while, especially on that grade. Anyone have any pics of the "Mixed Consist" trains?

Can I just make a statement based on my own unfounded opinion?

There's no way on God's green earth they are mixing carriages for regular use if two train operation is the goal. Capacity is rarely an issue with this attraction and frankly, I think that they are probably just moving the cars out of the way to handle Balmoral.

Not trying to be incendiary but I really don't see this happening at all like so many of you are commenting.

I have seen the train get full during HoS and I have heard it has during Xmas. That is not to say anyone is wrong, just my observation.

We got some movement on the trains now. There are three of Aberdeen Railway’s carriages on Alpen Express and one on Der Hochbeinige. Alpen’s caboose is attatched with the remaining Aberdeen Railway carriage. Balmoral Castle is still attached to its tender, covered with tarps.

That area is only visible from Invadr and, to me, it’s not worth the risk of something happening to my phone or having my phone injure another guest.

You can believe me, or don’t, that’s your choice. I for one don’t have any sort of agenda.

Hey guys, as you may already know Tampa's Serengeti Express has been closed since the BGW incident. I talked to an engineer who was temporally positioned at the main entrance. He told me that he was told Tampa's train would reopen in 2 weeks, again that was what he was told. This was from the Tampa park.

I would ask you to cite a source for your claim. When I spoke to Dale Brumfield about these matters, he told me, (and I am prone to believe him as an expert primary source) that all of Paramount's removals had reason. They did not take things out to just clear space. While he did not come out and say it, it was implied that years of neglect (not hard to believe) had left many of the attractions in signiciant disrepair. Others, like the RR and Sky Ride served little utility as transit ridees and required regular and very expensive maintenance. (again, in bad disrepair)

I'm not saying Viacom did great things or was short sighted in places, what I am saying is if you are going to make so bold claims like management (the catch all phrase for the evil uncaring money people?) only wanted this or that, you should have some kind of proof other than, "well they removed x, y, and z".
The FACTS are, that they removed significant family rides from KD during that time period, as well as show venues and did not replace them with anything that would entertain non-thrillseekers. It would be easy to assume that they made a decision that those customers that enjoy those things were not being targeted anymore. What EXACTLY did Paramount add to that park that appeals to non-thrill seekers during that time period? Not kiddie rides in Nick Universe.

I'd be curious to know how you define, "crowded." In my experience, very often there are long lines and tons of people on the paths.

Additionally, the Peanuts area is bigger than both of BGW's children's areas combined. Furthermore, KD -- unlike BGW -- has a dedicated children's event for Halloween. So, I'd argue they have been systematically making their park more family-friendly.

Regardless, none of that has anything to do with railroad fire at BGW.
Maybe I have been VERY luck on my trips to KD, but the parking lot is more empty than full every time except a Saturday or holiday. That plus the short waits is where my opinion comes from. Even in prime summer season this year, I experienced the same thing.

It looked weird seeing blue carriages on the green train yesterday from InvadR, and an extra blue carriage on the red train. On the bright side, it looks as it they repaired the back of Caribou. I also noticed that they didn't have the brass dome and whistle covered up on the red train. I thought they normally covered those with fabric to protect them when not in use.

As odd as they may look, I really hope they dont repaint them to match. I think if this had of been the green train it would not have been repaired. But they neet two larger locomotovies espically at CT. Those trains are packed and if they are ot were trying to make the railway a signature attraction for CT 2018 they will need capacity.
