Ok I'll be the first one to post a thread in shows.

I thought it was a great show, very entertaining and had some great stunts. The cast did a really great job

I was expecting an awful show because it was at a water park but I was pleasantly surprised.

This show has seemingly disappeared off of the park's website, and I think you all know what that most likely means.... :(

It was kind of one of the very few things that made Water Country USA unique. Most waterparks aren't able to boast that they have a live-action show going on, much less a high dive show. Plus, it would be really bad if a theatre space like that just sat empty for the entire summer. It's not very hidden.

In my experience, my parents and family would use it as a break from the rides while they let the kids go ride waterslides so they could have a break. No one I've taken to see it has disliked the show itself, many people have actually had very good strong feelings for the show.

Its existence or lack there of, is going to have, and I am guessing here, a attendance impact statistically approaching zero.

Considering that no less then the continued existence of the company is at risk, it sounds like the first smart business decisions the park has made in years, even if by mistake.

I don't want to turn this conversation down this road, but the same thing could be argued for the zoology cuts, and just about every other cut affecting both parks. The thing is you appreciate this cut more because you don't care for what is being cut. I think anyone could argue back and forth about if any cut is "smart" or not so smart, it just all depends on your viewpoint of the thing being cut. Honestly, I don't like both the zoology cuts or these cuts, but just because I don't like them doesn't mean they aren't smart cuts. The park, even though we constantly give them a bad rap for decisions like this, they probably have a much better idea of how each cut will effect the park in the long term.

For what it's worth, Aquabatics stood with All Wheel Sports as the only show my non-enthusiast friends would watch. We would watch it almost every visit, and even on off days the show was standing room only. I can't say how this will affect the park from a monetary standpoint, but I'll say it will be missed.

If the show is leaving, I wonder what will be done with the space?

No, the difference here is the zoo cuts do have an impact on attendance. The animal ambassadors were a useful marketing tool. People are much more likely to return to the park for an animal tour and, oh yeah, pay for same. No one is returning or paying for the dives.

The zoo cuts are arguably not smart cuts, as the animals were actually good marketing tools, this is something the park lacks, entirely.

I'd direct zoo cut discussion to the zoology cuts thread.

I don't think anyone is claiming that cutting Aquabatics is going to start some sort of rebellion of WCUSA guests, just that we'd be sad to see it go. Acknowledging that removing something is a wise choice and not wanting something removed are in no way mutually exclusive.

My mom used to take us to WCUSA a couple times a year in the 80's and the show was always something that we sat and watched. The park was much smaller back then with less to do if that makes a difference. Rampage was top dog back then. Whether the show belongs there now or not, I have no opinion as i haven't visited the park but once in the last decade. My only point is, every park should have something to do when it's time to take a break from the waterlogging.
