I found a picture of American Jukebox and there didn't seem to be a thread for the show so...

RE: American Jukebox

It was really out of place. An American show in a European themed park. GENIUS!

...and in a Canadian-themed hamlet... :dodgy:

RE: American Jukebox

I loved American Jukebox. It was a fabulous energetic show from Matt Davenport Productions. As for not fitting the theme, that's a concept that was seldom seen at the park prior to the Irish show with the exception of an Italian and German shows. Actually, for decades the park always had non-european themed shows in the Canadian Palladium, Royal Palace Theater, the Globe Theater, and Teatro de Piazza. Broadway, magic, ice skating, big bands, Elvis rock, country, show bands, and puppetry are among the many show styles that have no European theme, but have had long runs at the park.

Don't forget Enwined...doesn't make that list have much more of a swaying argument, though :dodgy:

I hate standards revue shows. However, they are crazy popular, which I don't get.

Where was the Canadian Palladium located, exactly?

RE: American Jukebox

I think Trapper's sits on it now...but where exactly? Trapper' is much larger, so where on the Trapper's property (if I'm even right about that) was it?

RE: American Jukebox

Wow....it's still the Palladium on google maps. Talk about memory lane.

I remember Monster Stomp in here. The OLD Monster Stomp.

Anyway, I hated American Jukebox.

Yes, it wasn't the best themed show but we always enjoyed the American Jukebox.
Especially their song dedication to our military at the end. It always made me tear up since my husband was in the Army and at times was deployed when we visited the park.

Bump. Having Matt Davenport mentioned over in 2017 Show Rumors made me think of where old shows go to die. Fingers crossed that the choreography will also bring back a favorite person to the park.

p.s. An old publicity shot I had with our fan fave Gabe in the middle back.

Awww, look at that young Gabe and Tiffany right off the bat. Perhaps cheesy and uber modern tunes, but the cast was top notch in vocalists and dancers. Always packed and hard to find a seat. This is the show that got us interested in geting to knowing the show cast members.

It's too bad that there isn't an entertainment venue in New France anymore. But I guess Invadr is good enough. ?
