Ehh I don't really care for the sports theme myself but I know it'll definitely appeal to the locals.

Also S&S has had a really bad reputation with reliability in recent years. I can't speak for the Chinese installations but between their suspended coaster opening a year late and Gale Force having to get rebuilt from the ground up, I'm really hoping this ride doesn't give the park too much trouble. I'm surprised the park didn't go for a company with a better track record like Premier.

Still looks pretty awesome though.

GaleForce's problems were all due to its incredibly poor track fabrication. S&S contracted fabrication out to a third party for that project.

Now that S&S owns Vekoma, it just seems obvious that they would let Vekoma's (excellent) in-house track fabrication team handle The Steel Curtain, the company's largest project ever. Additionally, the trains in the concept art look suspiciously like the latest generation Vekoma looper trains recently seen on Lech Coaster.

I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to learn that S&S is essentially rebadging a Vekoma product for The Steel Curtain and, frankly, it's probably a good decision too. Vekoma has been doing some excellent work lately but, in the US, their reputation is still, frankly, horrendous. Plus, historically, the S&S brand actually carries a lot of weight in the United States. Reinvigorating the S&S brand stateside seems a lot easier than trying to do the same with the Vekoma brand name.

Minor correction: S&S and Vekoma are both owned by Sansei. Vekoma is more of an independent asset, whereas S&S is directly controlled by Sansei.

Also the track previewed in the video is not 100% confirmed, as according to a few people who attended the event the NL2 creation was only finished the day before the announcement.

Trains are supposed to be featuring lap bars, per S&S.

Track is onsite:
