To also be fair to game companies, I think it's time for game prices to move up from the 60 dollar mark to 80 dollars. I'd pay 80 dollars for BF2 if the progression was fair and free of bugs, and the online features worked. But it's obvious big publishers don't give two fucks about making a great game that sells; they want to prey on whales - the poor fools who pay thousands of dollars to play Game of War and Mobile Strike on their phones.

I'd be willing to pay $80 as well for good games.  The issue is that the AAA industry is so fucked up though that games can be considered failures to investors if a game doesn't get X amount of pre-orders.  That results in review restrictions before the launch and since every fucking game these days has to have some sort of multiplayer, if you wait on a game you're at a disadvantage.

Also, fuck GameStop.  Those shitheads want me to pre-order digital games.

I was thinking about this last week: because of the mess AAA developers are making for themselves, they effectively paved the way for Nintendo's resurgence and dominance as a software publisher. From my point of view, the Wii U should have killed Nintendo off completely even though the Switch is a competent little machine. If EA and Activision (et al) were making better game experiences, Nintendo's position in the software market would be niche at best, if not completely anemic. But instead, Nintendo continues to deliver solid gaming experiences, while the big boys flounder, and will probably overtake whatever 'Number 1' positions there are to take in the upcoming years.

The Wii U was a great console and all, but it really woke up Nintendo to a lot of things. I'm glad that the Switch is doing so well, so I hope that other publishers will learn a thing or two.

I played Battlefront 2 just for the single player campaign. Once I finished it, I haven't picked the game back up. I'll play it again when the next "Season" comes out assuming it adds more story to the Campaign. I don't bother with the multiplayer because I die within seconds of spawning on the map and it's just not fun when you can't actually do anything. I had really high hopes for the star fighter based portions of the game and really enjoy them if I can get more than 2-3 mins of gameplay out of it before being blown to smithereens.

There are three things I really need from Star Wars in the video game world, and soon! A rich story driven single player Star Wars adventure like the Dark Forces-Jedi Knight Series; a full featured real time strategy game with both planetary and spacial campaigns spanning the entire saga from prequels to sequels and tv shows in-between that expands further beyond the limited maps of Empire at War; and finally a worthy successor to my favorite of all Star Wars games series X-Wing & Tie Fighter which also needs to span both the prequels and sequel eras and include the ability to pilot every starfighter make/class ever seen in the canon.

These are essentials to me, and EA has totally wasted seven years of a Star Wars licence on two lackluster multiplayer FPS that aren't even that great.

I would shell out 100 bucks for more Halo.. Just saying. I need more Master Chief in my life. Also it is time for the prequels to get going. There is an entire history of the Forerunners to play out!
