So Behind the Thrills has a new story regarding SWSA. SWSA already announced that they are adding Discovery Point soon which will provide an experience similar to Discovery Cove in Orlando. The park also added Aquatica a couple years ago which has a seperate gate from SeaWorld but that gate is inside the main SeaWorld gate. You have to show your ticket to enter SeaWorld then show your ticket again to enter Aquatica.

Well from what I have read it sounds like the whole main entrance of SWSA is getting renovated so that SeaWorld and Aquatica have seperate entrances and a new seperate entrance will be built for Discovery Point making it a separate gated attraction. Im not sure why SEAS wouldn't just name it Discovery Cove if it's a totally new gate at the park.

Give the article a read, there is mention of new rides, the new Orca Exhibit, and a potential new coaster coming to the park.

SeaWorld fans rejoice! I visited the park in August of last year and while some areas were fine there were large chunks of the park that were outdated compared to SWO or SWSD. The park also had a lot of dead areas where there was nothing to do such as the area where the Log Flume was once located which is currently decaying away.

Where is Hummel Boy?

SeaWorld San Antonio is the largest SeaWorld park. I'm glad that they are taking their time planning things out. They have enough room to do great things if they do it strategically.

SWSA's problem is that it's right next door to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. SWO has been home to two of the best coasters in the state (and is adding a third). I fear SWSA can't follow the same path.

Very curious to see what path SWSA ends up taking.

No, they follow a completely different path. They just install the EXACT SAME coaster as SFFT. Smiling

Actually SWSA had that coaster before SFFT.

Also, for what it's worth, SeaWorld San Antonio is the park that's probably facing the least bad publicity. They could sail through with this really smoothly if they try. Maybe they could come out on top.
